Albanian Muslim Ridon Kola threatened to “slaughter” cops and “kill the fat rat mayor” of a New York City suburb during a St. Patrick’s Day Parade attended by tens of thousands of people. Yet, despite the ISIS sympathizer making his religiously motivated threats clear, Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano brushed them off as mental illness.
“The world is a little scary at times, and we know a lot of people suffering from mental illness and, clearly, this individual – in my estimation – is suffering from mental illness,” said the Mayor.
Fox News reports that the 32-year-old was arrested Friday and hit with federal charges after months of threatening messages directed at the police and city officials in Yonkers. The ISIS sympathizer also “declared war on America” in social media posts.
“First people to be crucified will be the Yonkers rats Vallahi. Allahu Ekberr,” Kola wrote on the Yonkers Police Facebook page on March 9, according to the federal indictment.
“I will crucify Yonkers police and their bosses all along McLean ave. It will be a horror scene . . . Allahu Ekberr.”
The phrase “Allahu Ekberr” (Allahu Akbar) means “Allah is the greatest” and is used by Muslims as a battle cry during terror attacks.
Three days earlier, on March 6, Kola allegedly sent a message to Yonkers police that said he’s “looking for that officer that came to my house and threatened me and my family to kill us,” court documents say.
“I’m going to burn the world until I find him Vallahi [by God]; no matter what happens to me, there will never be peace in this country anymore! Allahu Ekberr,” said Kola.
The Mayor’s office told Fox News Digital they don’t know what he was referring to in the March 6 message.
Kola’s alleged threats to Yonkers police and officials go back to the end of 2021.
On November 19, 2021, he allegedly sent a message to Yonkers police in Albanian that translated to, “I am going to slaughter you, little girls.”
On December 5, 2021, he allegedly sent another message, “Starting tomorrow; I will start killing your officers just so u [sic] know who is doing it, Ridon Kola Albanian blood, and I’m going to kill your fat rat mayor.”
The next day, Yonkers police went to Kola’s home, and he admitted to sending the messages. Police searched his home but didn’t find weapons.
Federal prosecutors connected Kola to ISIS using several social media posts he allegedly made, including supportive messages about Muslim Sayfullo Saipov, convicted for his ISIS-inspired terrorist attack in New York City that killed eight people on a bike path on Halloween 2017. Other posts referenced jihad and establishing a “caliphate,” through violence.
“As alleged, Ridon Kola posted threats on social media against law enforcement, stating his support for ISIS and his intention to murder numerous police officers,” federal prosecutor Damian Williams said in a statement.
“Undeterred after questioning from law enforcement, Kola’s conduct escalated, as he continued to assure police his threats would be carried out.”
Mental Health Excuse
News outlets and authorities in the United States quickly reported that Ridon could just be suffering from mental illness. This is a common tactic for protecting Muslims who kill or threaten non-Muslims. The left launches to the defense of the Jihadi and suggest they are likely suffering from “psychological issues.”
As previously reported at RAIR Foundation USA, in virtually every instance of jihad or migrant attacks in Europe, politicians & media hide the identity of the attackers. However, in rare cases, when an attacker’s identity and citizenship status are leaked, the suspect is presented as possibly suffering from mental health issues. Unfortunately, the same tactic has made its way to the United States.
If convicted of the charges against him, Kola could face a sentence of up to five years in prison.
