Clinical psychologist and public intellectual Dr. Jordan Peterson argues that Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is a “narcissist” who has been “corrupted” by power.
Speaking with Russian-born American computer scientist and podcast host Lex Fridman, Dr. Peterson called out Mr. Trudeau on what he believes are his authoritarian tendencies, narcissism, and his conflict with farmers in his pursuit of radical green policies.
Free Speech Defender
In 2016, while a Professor at the Univesity of Toronto, Peterson rocketed to stardom when he started publishing a series on the dangers of political correctness. He was one of the few academics to speak out publicly against legislation on specific speech.
Social justice activists protested the professor’s unfiltered and politically incorrect series at the time. However, after the protests against him, he held his own counter-protest:
Attacks on free speech began shortly after Trudeau’s 2015 inauguration and included the passage of Motion M-103 and Bill C-16.
M-103 introduced ‘Islamophobia’ into Canada’s legislative lexicon and afforded special protections that shielded some religions from having their doctrines and traditions critiqued. Islam is the only religion specifically named for protection in M-103
Bill C-16 made it the law of the land to treat ‘gender identity and expression’ as grounds for discrimination. It also compels Canadians to use appropriate gender-specific pronouns when addressing those who demand they be used.
Other impediments to speech imposed by this government include restrictions on social media platforms (Digital Charter), amendments to election laws to preclude “disinformation” critical of policies and politicians, and new licensing and registration requirements for news organizations. The list goes on and on.
In 2019, Peterson made his opinions of “weasel” Trudeau very clear, “he’s a man who capitalized, without virtue on the name of his father”:
