“We know that the noble, just aims of the protestors are righteous and good. But we also know that some evil elements are literally defusing themselves with the protest to destroy and cause arson so the whole community has a low opinion of the protest.“ – Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison, May 30, 2020
Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison proudly broadcast his support for Antifa in January 2018 on social media. In the wake of the Minneapolis riots, the former state representative has deleted the infamous Antifa tweet, and is further promoting the laughably false narrative that “far right extremists” are responsible for the riots that have taken place across the country, including in his home state.
The riots have been promoted by the communist-created Black Lives Matter movement and Antifa-aligned groups such as America’s largest Marxist organization, the Democratic Socialists of America. Keith Ellison appears to have deleted his infamous tweet (archived here) from January 2018 praising Antifa for “strike [sic] fear in the heart of President Trump.”
Additionally, Ellison tweeted a link to a Vice article by Tess Owens titled “Far-Right Extremists Are Hoping to Turn the George Floyd Protests Into a New Civil War” which claims that the peaceful protests against police brutality are being hijacked by evil white supremacists. The article acknowledges that the riots “are being led by community members and Black Lives Matter, and bolstered by antifascists,” but stresses that “[F]ar-right extremists are showing up, with guns” to the riots. The completely obscure white supremacists are evidently known as “Boogaloo Bois,” according to Owens, who claims vaguely that they “have reportedly shown up to some of the protests.”
But this spark of blame gifted by a partisan report in a leftist magazine is all that Keith Ellison and friends need to place full blame on someone other than themselves.
Keith Ellison is distorting himself into a pretzel in a press conference he posted on May 30 which depicts the rioters as “noble”, and claimed that “evil elements” who are “against” justice for George Floyd were inflicting damage in order to discredit the “righteous and good” intentions of the protesters.
“People that are trying to tarnish the reputations of the noble protest for justice are out there trying to mix in with the crowd so that people don’t just say ‘oh look all those protests are bad, their cause can’t be just, they’re just out there causing trouble.’ …We know that the noble, just aims of the protestors are righteous and good. But we also know that some evil elements are literally defusing themselves with the protest to destroy and cause arson so the whole community has a low opinion of the protest. Because they are not for justice for Mr. Floyd – They’re against it!”
A local source explained that during the same press conference that featured Keith Ellison, other “community leaders…denounced systemic racism that they say have long contributed to inequality and tensions, and said outside anarchists were intent on causing destruction.” While the narrative has been that outsiders have been arrested in Minnesota, the truth is that “most arrested in Minneapolis riots have Minnesota addresses.”
Other speakers included Imam Asad Zaman, the Executive Director of the Muslim Brotherhood-aligned Muslim American Society of Minnesota who accompanied Keith Ellison to Mecca in December 2008 and Rev. Alfred Babington-Johnson, an organizer alongside Keith Ellison for Louis Farrakhan’s Million Man March in 1995.
The image is unclear, but Keith Ellison and Alfred Babington-Johnson’s names are legible in this 1995 flyer:
Author and film-maker Trevor Loudon has painstakingly detailed Keith Ellison’s hard-left radical and terrorist ties in a monograph: Burn This Book: What Keith Ellison Doesn’t Want You to Know: A Radical Marxist-Islamist, His Associations and Agenda. Ellison is a long-time radical activist, who has deep associations with the Nation of Islam, the Democratic Socialists of America, and Hamas-linked CAIR among others. With Keith Ellison, Rep. Ilhan Omar and Mayor Jacob Frey in charge, what could possibly go wrong?
