Texas Tech has suspended men’s basketball coach Mark Adams for what the school is calling an “inappropriate, unacceptable, and racially insensitive comment.”
According to the school, Adams was encouraging a player to be more receptive to coaching and “referenced Bible verses about workers, teachers, parents, and slaves serving their masters.” Adams apologized to the team after he found out the player was upset about the use of the Bible verse, a source told ESPN.
Athletic director Kirby Hocutt was made aware of the incident. He issued Adams a written reprimand but then made the decision to suspend the coach to conduct a “more thorough inquiry of Adams’ interactions with his players and staff.”

Adams spoke with Jeff Goodman of Stadium and related that he believes his comments were not racist. Adams claims he was quoting a Bible verse when he told one of his players that there is “always a master and a servant.”
“I was quoting the scripture,” he said.
Adams said he spoke to the team the next day after “one of my coaches said it bothered the player.” The family of the player told Hocutt of the incident last week, according to Stadium.
master, master, where’s the dreams that I’ve been after?
I’d rather have a Bible quoting or Bible paraphrasing coach. The player might learn something like how to live right, how to go to heaven, be respectful to women, teachers, children, parents etc. Rarely do athletes have great success in life without that. Instead, their lifestyle choices often land them in prison, in broken relationships, unable to hold a good job/business, diseased and hopeless.
Will I see him in heaven? I hope so. Romans 10:9 and John chapter 3 are worth reading to know just how to do so.
Should have used the King James instead of corrupt modern versions, and this would not have been an issue. It says servants, not slaves. God knew that there would be this time in history when people would be easily offended, oh, and there is also a verse about not being easily offended as well!
This world has gone insane, to have a coach suspended for quoting the bible is the result of this insanity. I have serious questions about our culture if we can even survive this decay of humanism.
Of course the player who grew up in this woke society would be offended. He wasn’t talking about slavery, he was talking about submitting to authority. Victims everywhere.
Typical communist witch hunt. Hocutt is a fool.
Sure the playa is using the N word with impunity….
The black, white, and yellow slaves captured by black African slavers did indeed serve their BLACK MASTERS.
Blacks are the the most prolific slavers of all. How ironic.
Poor little snowflake can’t take it.
Tell Texas Tech where they can stick their suspension. Suspend the whining player.
Racial insensitivity=wrong think. Orwellian crap.
SCREW texas tech.
