Canadian MP Slams Trudeau’s Weak Leadership, Declares Unwavering Support for Israel in Fight Against Hamas (Video)

On October 6, Conservative MP Shuvaloy Majumdar, born in Calgary, Alberta, to Indian immigrant parents of Bengali Hindu origin, stood before a crowd on Parliament Hill, delivering a speech that cut right to the heart of the ongoing crisis in Gaza. Majumdar, who was elected as Member of Parliament for Calgary Heritage in a 2023 by-election, wasn’t about to let anyone forget that it’s been 12 months since Hamas took Israeli hostages. “While our people in Canada may not be held hostage in tunnels, our values are held hostage,” he said, pointing fingers at those in power whose policies have weakened the West’s stance on freedom and justice.

Majumdar slammed the leaders who’ve allowed their moral equivalence to cloud their judgment, placing Israeli lives—and ultimately our own values—in jeopardy. He called out those changing long-standing policies and imposing arms embargoes that have made it harder for Israel to defend itself. “We told you that Israel has the right to exist. We told you that Israel has the right to defend itself, and we told you that anti-Zionism is antisemitism,” Majumdar said, driving home that this isn’t just about Israel’s fight—it’s about all of us.

With nearly 100 hostages still trapped in Gaza’s tunnels, Majumdar’s focus stayed on the brutal reality facing families who’ve been holding their breath for a year. “We cannot forget them. We cannot and will not stop talking about them,” he said. His message was simple: the fight for their freedom isn’t over, and neither is the world’s responsibility to stand with Israel.

Majumdar also turned his attention to Iran, calling out its role in creating chaos and emboldening groups like Hamas and Hezbollah. He called for defunding UNRWA, just as former Prime Minister Stephen Harper did 12 years ago, and condemned those in power who’ve sided with extremists rather than confronting them head-on.

He didn’t shy away from addressing the threats right here at home, either. Majumdar highlighted the rise of antisemitic attacks, mentioning firebombed synagogues, bullet-riddled schools, and the fear that’s spreading across campuses and city streets. “Twelve months of fear, over fear in our streets,” he said, a stark reminder that this isn’t just happening in the Middle East—it’s happening in the West too.

Despite the darkness, Majumdar wasn’t without hope. He emphasized the strength of Israel and the Jewish people, pointing to their long history of resilience, from the Maccabees to the present day. “Today, my friends, Israel is winning,” he said, acknowledging that, in the face of overwhelming challenges, Israel’s existence and strength remain a beacon of freedom. He wrapped up with a powerful commitment to standing with Israel and the Jewish people, making it clear that this fight isn’t going anywhere. “We choose freedom over fear. We will never give in, never back down, never surrender.”

Majumdar’s speech wasn’t just another political statement—it was a call to action. He made it clear that now is the time to stand up, support Israel, and defend the values that we all hold dear.
