Egypt’s tightly controlled border with Gaza tells a story that Westerners seem blind to even an Islamic country like Egypt, sharing cultural, religious, and regional ties with “Palestinians,” refuses to open its borders. Why? Security. Egypt fears the infiltration of militants, weapons, and the destabilization of its own territories. The Egypt–Palestine border, also known as the Egypt–Gaza border, is just 12 kilometers (7.5 miles) long. Despite its relatively short length, Egypt has established a buffer zone stretching approximately 14 kilometers (8.7 miles), with strict controls in place. The Rafah Border Crossing, the only official crossing point between Egypt and Gaza, is tightly regulated and often closed. These measures reflect Egypt’s recognition of the severe security risks posed by unchecked movement across the border.
Western nations, on the other hand, have rolled out the welcome mat, only to face a surge of violence, terror, and unrest. Take a look at your own streets, Westerners. The riots, attacks, and destruction are being carried out in plain sight, often under the banner of so-called “protests.” Calls for the annihilation of Israel and “death to Jews” are shouted loudly and without shame while crimes—murders, rapes, beatings—escalate. Are these not glaring warning signs?
If Egypt, a neighbor to Gaza, sees the risk and acts accordingly, why do Western nations ignore the obvious? Why are they so eager to import the same Islamic dangers Egypt is desperate to avoid? It’s time for the West to wake up. The consequences of blind compassion, unchecked immigration, and appeasement are unraveling before your eyes. How much more destruction will it take for you to stop and think?
