Attack in France: Bakery Employee Fatally Stabbed on Sidewalk, Incident Captured on Film

A 47-year-old bakery employee was fatally stabbed during the night from Wednesday to Thursday in Bagneux. The victim, a resident of Argenteuil (Val-d’Oise), was smoking a cigarette on the sidewalk when two men approached him. One of the assailants wielded a knife, inflicting wounds on the victim’s carotid artery and abdomen.

The incident occurred during the late hours of Wednesday, coinciding with the end of Ramadan, which led to the bakery’s extended opening hours. At around 11 p.m., during his break, the two men confronted the victim. CCTV footage shows a brief conversation before one of the attackers stabbed the victim multiple times.

Despite the arrival of emergency services shortly before midnight, the victim succumbed to his injuries on-site. Initial police investigations revealed at least five wounds, including a significant one to the carotid artery.

Upon reviewing the surveillance footage, police identified a potential accomplice to the assailant. However, this individual’s involvement remains speculative. The departmental judicial police service has taken charge of the investigation, but no clear leads have emerged thus far.

The victim, who resided in Argenteuil (Val-d’Oise), was not previously known to law enforcement. Further analysis of the CCTV footage, on-site evidence, and telephone records is underway to identify the perpetrators.
