The Anne & Max Tanenbaum Community Hebrew Academy of Toronto, also known as TanenbaumCHAT, faced another security scare as it was evacuated on Friday morning following a bomb threat. The school staff disclosed in an email to parents, obtained by the Star, that they received a threatening email claiming that “multiple explosive devices had been planted in the school.” Authorities have not provided further details on the nature of the threat.

Toronto police, who arrived promptly on the scene, coordinated the evacuation of students to ensure their safety. K9 units were deployed to assist in a thorough search of the school for any potential threats.
This incident comes on the heels of a hate-crime investigation last month involving the same school. Online threats were made, leading to charges against two teens and an adult after a group of Jewish students was targeted outside the premises. Shockingly, this recent bomb threat at the Anne & Max Tanenbaum Community Hebrew Academy of Toronto adds to a disturbing trend of escalating anti-Semitic attacks across Canada. Just weeks ago, two Jewish schools in Montreal were subjected to gunfire not once, but twice, and a synagogue faced a horrifying firebombing.
