A Jewish man in his late twenties, wearing traditional religious attire, was viciously slashed across the face while walking on Flatbush and Lafayette Avenues in Brooklyn. The assailant, reportedly a masked man, yelled antisemitic slurs before launching his assault, leaving the victim hospitalized and in need of surgery. Yaacov Behrman, a prominent advocate and founder of the Jewish Future Alliance, reported on X/Twitter, “I just spoke to the family; he is hospitalized and requires surgery.” Witnesses confirm that the attack was completely unprovoked, but even with such stark details, major New York media outlets have largely ignored the story.

Many point to New York’s open-border policies as a significant factor, enabling the entry of countless individuals who hold violently antisemitic Islamic ideologies. Thanks to the Joe Biden and Kamala Harris administration’s permissive stance on immigration, individuals with unvetted radical beliefs now walk the streets of New York, bringing hatred and violence with them. These recent arrivals, radicalized in environments hostile to Jews and the West, now seem emboldened, as America’s lenient immigration policies have given them free reign. It’s Jewish communities who bear the brunt of this reckless policy, facing threats, harassment, and even physical attacks with no recourse.
The mainstream media’s refusal to cover this reality is just as alarming. These same outlets, which normally decry hate crimes and emphasize minority protections, have suddenly fallen silent, demonstrating a shocking double standard when the victims are Jewish. This silence is no accident; it is part of an agenda that values political correctness over truth, an agenda that aligns with Palestinian supporters and, by extension, sympathizes with Hamas and other radical anti-Israel groups. Media silence here is a form of complicity, showing a clear willingness to overlook hate crimes against Jews rather than risk challenging the pro-Palestinian, pro-mass illegal immigration narrative.

The silence from the left-wing media and the majority of Democratic leaders on this issue speaks volumes. In their haste to push open borders and support for radical, pro-Palestinian causes, they’ve ignored the suffering of the Jewish community. A few Democratic politicians may condemn the attacks on Jews in their statements, but their hypocrisy is clear when considering their actions. Their continued support for open-border policies and alignment with radical groups operating in the United States—including the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), a group with documented ties to Hamas—only emboldens those who espouse hate against Jews. These politicians talk of tolerance and peace while empowering organizations and policies that allow Jew-hatred to fester in our own cities.
The recent video posted by Behrman on October 31 depicts a man entering a kosher store in Brooklyn, spewing venomous antisemitic tropes like “Jewish people are evil,” “You guys are killing babies,” and “Hitler was onto something.” These statements are dangerous, incendiary, and designed to intimidate, yet they are ignored by a media landscape that would rather not confront the implications of open borders and radical sympathies.

Behrman and other community leaders have had to pick up the pieces, bearing the burden of reporting and responding to these attacks. In an environment where Jewish lives are treated as political inconveniences, the Jewish Future Alliance has been forced to act as a lone voice, calling on America to “wake up” and address the hatred now entrenched in its own neighborhoods. Without the support of mainstream media or state-wide leadership, Brooklyn’s Jews are left increasingly vulnerable and isolated, wondering how much longer their struggles will go unacknowledged.
The question is, how far does this complicity extend? Will the media continue to ignore these hate crimes, or will America finally acknowledge the role its policies have played in bringing antisemitic violence into the heart of New York City? The safety of Jewish communities in Brooklyn hangs in the balance, waiting for an answer that reflects America’s commitment—or lack thereof—to protecting its Jewish citizens from the hate and violence that’s been allowed to flourish unchecked.
