In the video, a woman the media dubiously labels as “Spanish” – a thinly veiled euphemism for migrants – voices her dissatisfaction with the paltry welfare stipend. She argues that it woefully fails to provide a sustainable living standard for herself and her four children, one of whom is yet to be born.
Most of the migrant influx into Spain are widely economic opportunists, lured by prospects of a superior life under the umbrella of Europe’s generous welfare schemes, rather than refugees seeking protection from war-torn environments.
