Communist Canada: Farmers and Politicians Rally Against Trudeau's Carbon Tax, Citing Costs Surpassing Entire Farm Heating Bills (Video)

OTTAWA – On Wednesday, November 23rd, a significant protest erupted on Parliament Hill, led by a coalition of farmers, concerned citizens, members of Parliament, and Canadian senators. This group marched from Parliament Hill to the Senate, voicing their opposition to a controversial bill proposing a carbon tax on fuel, a move initiated by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s government.

Janet Krayden, the organizer of the march, highlighted the dire financial implications of this tax on the farming community. According to calculations presented by some farmers, the fuel tax could exceed the total cost of heating and operating essential farm equipment, like grain dryers, for an entire year. This alarming revelation raises serious concerns about the economic viability of farming under the new tax regime.

In an interview, Krayden underscored the unprecedented financial burden faced by farmers, the highest since 1974. She emphasized the necessity of carbon tax relief for various farming operations, including heating barns, greenhouses, and drying grains. “We need affordable food and sustainable farming in Canada, and the carbon tax is a direct threat to both,” Krayden remarked, urging the government and independent senators to recognize the urgency of the situation.

In a dramatic escalation on Friday, December 7th, Canada’s main opposition, the Conservative Party, initiated an overnight filibuster against PM Trudeau’s destructive carbon tax. The filibuster, led by Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre, aimed to draw attention to the tax’s role in fueling inflation and increasing living costs. Despite their efforts, the Conservative motions to axe the carbon tax were ultimately defeated.

“The Trudeau administration remains firm on its stance, advocating for the carbon tax as a vital climate policy since its implementation in 2019, aimed at reducing fossil fuel use and promoting ‘clean energy.’ However, this policy faces criticism, both for burdening households with massive increases in heating costs and stunting economic growth. Critics like Tom Harris, Executive Director of the International Climate Science Coalition, challenge the Canadian government’s view. In an exclusive interview with RAIR, Harris highlights the historical benefits of fossil fuels in improving living standards and even aiding environmental conservation, as seen in the preservation of Britain’s forests post-coal adoption. He suggests exploring alternative viewpoints on climate change and energy, such as those presented in Michael Moore’s documentary ‘Planet of the Humans,’ which scrutinizes the environmental impact of renewable energy sources.

Further controversy surrounds the administration of the carbon tax. Reports reveal that in the 2022-23 fiscal year, over $82 million was spent on managing the tax and employing 465 bureaucrats. This expense, coupled with the tax’s contribution to inflation, as indicated by the Bank of Canada, intensifies the debate over its efficacy and impact.

Tensions escalated in the Senate when a crucial bill, C-234, intended to provide immediate carbon tax relief to farmers, was amended by the left, effectively excluding barns from its provisions. This amendment, supported by Liberal-appointed senators, faced sharp criticism from opposition members, including Conservative MP Ben Lobb, who accused the prime minister of misleading tactics.

As the political standoff continues, the future of Canadian agriculture and the broader economic landscape remains uncertain. The opposition’s continued challenge to the carbon tax policy signals a deepening divide in Canadian politics, with the well-being of the farming community and the nation’s food security at stake.

  • Canada, the next “Sri Lanka” coming soon to them.
The rest of the world will follow.
It is clear to see this is part of the WEF order to depopulate the world through starvation in time.
I can only hope and pray that all these WEF commies will end soon under the ground, eaten by their own bugs.

This has nothing to do with climate change. Storms are from all times, just like floods. The earth is a living organism, nothing stays the same. For the climate scientists this question: how are you going to prevent the continents moving further away from each other or bump into each other ? A lot of people will die because of this happening probably. The comparison makes sense: you can NOT prevent this !
