For centuries, the Church has battled against the heresies of Emperors, kings, tyrants, and even its own adherents. Today, Islam has slithered into some of the inner circles of the highest-ranking Church officials. One such instance is the confidant and secretary for left-wing female Archbishop Antje Jackelen of the corrupted Church of Sweden, a theologian named Jakob Wiren. In a new book, Wiren claims that the Church should regard Mohammed as a prophet.
In an interview with Swedish newspaper Dagen, Wiren states, “Regarding the concept of prophecy, it’s quite open. There are prophets and prophesying even after Jesus’s resurrection, especially in the New Testament.” However, this is patently false.
Most Protestant denominations believe that after Jesus’ resurrection and the passing of the twelve Apostles, Biblical prophecy has been closed until the return of Jesus, a term known as ‘cessation of revelation.’ They reason that Jesus was the fulfillment of Old Testament Biblical prophecy; therefore, any prophecy after that of the Apostle John’s Revelation of the Lord Jesus Christ is rejected.
On the other hand, Catholics have historically believed that prophets have arisen even after the New Testament. However, the testing of these prophets has always been a stringent and exacting process. The Catholic Magisterium, the body of Catholic theologians that has set and interpreted Catholic dogma and canon law throughout the Church’s long and embattled history, has also made it a point to require that all new prophecies, whether they come from a vision or from the inspiration of one of the Catholic faithful, must be in accordance with the lineage of doctrine and prophecy that has come before it. Any new prophecy that rejects or explicitly changes any of the essential principles of the Catholic creed is to be rejected.
Since the beginning of the Church, Saint Paul was battling against members of the Church who had infiltrated the faithful and attempted to pervert the doctrine of Christian believers. In the Epistle to the Galatians, Saint Paul writes,
I am amazed that you are so quickly forsaking the One who called you by [the] grace [of Christ] for a different gospel (not that there is another). But there are some who are disturbing you and wish to pervert the Gospel of Christ. But even if an angel from heaven should preach [to you] a gospel other than the one that we preached to you, let that one be accursed! As we have said before, and I now say it again, if anyone preaches to you a gospel other than the one that you received, let that one be accursed!” (Galatians 1:6-9; NAB Revised Edition).
Here, in a prescient verse, Saint Paul anticipates that one would claim by the oracle of an angel that Christ was not who He said He was (namely, the Son of God) or that He did not do what He said He would do (namely, die for our sins, resurrect Himself on the third day, ascend into heaven, and sit at the right hand of God, the Father).
Disturbingly similar, Muslims believe that the supposed angel Gabriel dictated the entire Qu’ran to Mohammed, which in part states that Jesus did not die on the cross, nor is He the Son of God or one with God. However, Saint Paul says that an angel preaching these false teachings of Christ would be accursed. We can, therefore, logically deduce that this was not the same angel Gabriel that announced the virgin birth of the Christ-child to Mary but is instead the accursed angel fallen from heaven, Lucifer, who also disguises himself as an angel of light (See II Corinthians 11:13-15).
Saint Paul is also so adamant that he gives the command twice (the only place in all of his Epistles where he repeats an instruction twice in a row) as if issuing a prophecy himself. The first command he directs to any of the current Church preachers or any angel from heaven. The second, he directs to a man. That man is Mohammed, who is the person who would proclaim a different gospel other than what the Apostles preached by the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. In both instances, the angel (Satan disguised as Gabriel) and the man (Mohammed) are to be accursed, or in Greek, “anathema.”
As we delve into the historical parallels between the teachings of Saint Paul and the claims of Mohammed, it becomes essential to shift our focus from historical context to a more in-depth theological analysis of the doctrinal implications associated with these perspectives.
Saint Paul, as a persecutor of the early Church, was encountered by the ascended Christ on his way to Damascus. There, he was blinded for three days and underwent an internal conversion of his spirit (Acts 9:1-19). Once his eyes were opened, he became a passionate defender of the faith of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, equal to and one with God (consubstantial), yet emptying Himself of His infinite nature in order to be born of flesh to the Virgin Mary. Saint Paul’s conversion from a Jewish Pharisee, persecuting Christians unto death, to a martyr for the faith of Jesus Christ is a hallmark conversion by which we can test the veracity of his prophecies and teachings.
Contrarily, Mohammed’s epileptic possessions, where he encountered the oratory of an angel, lack the continuity and congruency of earlier Biblical teachings both of Christ in the New Testament and of the Patriarchs and Prophets in the Old Testament. In essence, Mohammed preaches a Gospel other than that which the Apostles of the early Church preached. Therefore, no Christian, Protestant, or Catholic can accept Mohammed as a prophet.
According to Jakob Wiren, Mohammed can be considered a prophet akin to the Old Testament prophets who testified to the existence of only one God. To this, one can agree that Mohammed resembles one kind of Old Testament prophet; however, it is the kind termed “false prophet” in Scripture. The false prophet is unlike those televangelist preachers who cunningly lie to their congregation to bilk them out of their hard-earned cash. Instead, the concept of the false prophet has its roots in Old Testament Scripture and was used by God to bring destruction upon the wicked (while eventually being destroyed themselves for their own evil). In I Kings, chapter 22, God allows a lying spirit to fill the mouths of the false prophets of the wicked King Ahab in order to influence him to follow bad counsel that would ultimately lead to his destruction. “Then a spirit came forward and stood before the LORD, saying, ‘I will entice him [King Ahab].’ And the LORD said to him, ‘By what means?’ And he said, ‘I will go out and will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets.’ ” (I Ki. 22:21-22; NAB)
In this passage, the true prophet, Micaiah, intimates to King Ahab the vision he saw of the LORD who allowed a lying spirit to entice Ahab through his false prophets to believe that he should go to war with a neighboring adversary, Ramoth-Gilead.
The LORD allowed this because He declared disaster upon the wicked King Ahab and his followers, knowing they would follow the false prophets’ advice. However, the false prophets in the Old Testament were not aware that the prophecy they were giving was a lie. Their consciences had already been seared through their own wicked deeds so that the gift of prophecy they were given was perverted to tell lies- lies which they themselves believed in unto their own destruction.

Actually, the traditional Catholic Church believes that the age of prophesy ended with the death of the last apostle. As a trad catholic I don’t pay much attention to 5he Fatima, Faustina, medjugorie and other so called prophetic events because they simply haven’t borne out to be true.
The bolded summary just below the headline states that Wiren asserts that the Catholic Church should recognize Mohammed as a prophet. But the article seems to indicate that it’s the Church of Sweden he’s referring to. The Church of Sweden isn’t Catholic. It’s Lutheran.
He forgot an important adjective. The word FALSE should precede the word prophet. Islam denies that Jesus is the Son of God. It has no place in the Christian church. Read I John, especially chapter 2. He who denies the Son does not have the Father.
So does Judaism. The talmud says Mary is a Whore and Jesus is in heII boiling in excrement. over 95% of Jews believe that the talmud is the “Oral Torah” written down starting in the 4th century AD. So when Ben Shapiro states his is “Torah Compliant” he means the talmud.
Why do Christian Churches disregard the talmud stating that Mary was a whore, that Jesus is burning in Excrement, that sex with a 3 year old girl is ok with a Rabbi if she is willing to marry him, that the children of goyim (gentiles) are like animals. And 1 Peter 2:9 tells us that Christians are now his Chosen. Romans 11 says Jews, IF THEY BELIEVE THE GOSPEL like Peter told them in Acts 3, they would be grafted back in, what advantage was Paul talking about? THEY BELIEVED THE OLD TESTAMENT WAS THE WORD OF GOD, that is something that Gentiles would have to be convinced of before they could believe in a Messiah. That was the advantage.
