In an incident on Sunday evening in the Liserons district of Nice, French police made a disturbing discovery. They found a cramped room where around forty innocent sheep were held captive. The sheep were intended for a barbaric ritual sacrifice associated with the Islamic holiday of Eid el-Kébir, also known as Eid al-Adha. The incident sheds light on the plight of animals during this bloody period.
Authorities found the cramped apartment, owned by Côte d’Azur Habitat, containing these defenseless animals. The room’s tiny dimensions highlight the deplorable conditions where the sheep were being held. One of the sheep had already suffered a brutal fate, with its throat slit, as a part of the Islamic sacrifice.

It commemorates the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to God. Traditionally, animals, such as sheep, goats, and cows, are sacrificed as part of the torturous celebration.
