In an outrageous but sadly not surprising turn of events, Dutch authorities confirmed on Saturday that no arrests were made during a wave of Islamic violence targeting Israeli football supporters and Jewish civilians in Amsterdam. The attacks left five people hospitalized and many others injured. Despite the city’s stated commitment to public safety, Amsterdam’s law enforcement failed when it mattered most, allowing violent Muslims to roam freely during the attacks and sow fear among the Jewish community.
The incidents unfolded late Thursday night following the Ajax-Maccabi Tel Aviv match, where a violent Islamic mob reportedly “hunted” Israeli supporters and Jewish civilians throughout the city. While 62 arrests were made that evening, all took place before or during the game, leaving no one apprehended during the violent attacks that followed the match. The Public Prosecution Service reported that among those detained were four individuals suspected of “public violence,” but none were connected to the violence that erupted against Israeli fans afterward.
According to reports, attackers on scooters conducted “hit-and-run” style assaults across Amsterdam, evading law enforcement in scenes the left-wing open borders Mayor Femke Halsema described as “unbearable and unacceptable.” Radicals like Halsema feign outrage, yet her open border policies and blind denial of Islam’s threat have created a dangerous breeding ground for unchecked violence in her own city.
In a press conference, Halsema condemned the violent actions, saying, “This has nothing to do with protest; it is a crime, and there is no excuse for what happened.” Following the mayor’s statements, authorities pledged “further arrests” and assembled a special police task force to track down the assailants.
Concerns of Bias in Police Protection and Diversity-driven Hiring Practices
These incidents have intensified concerns in Amsterdam’s Jewish community, which were already heightened following a recent incident in October. Reports surfaced that some Dutch police officers with Islamic backgrounds declined assignments to guard Jewish sites, citing personal beliefs. This refusal, interpreted by many as an unwillingness to protect Jewish citizens, raised serious concerns within the community about their safety and questioned the impartiality of those entrusted to serve and protect all citizens equally.
Compounding these issues, the diversity-focused hiring practices of the Amsterdam police have also come under scrutiny. For years, the relentless push to prioritize ‘ethnic and religious diversity’ within the police force has compromised the quality and reliability of Amsterdam’s law enforcement, emphasizing inclusivity over talent and preparedness. Hundreds of immigrant officers recruited over the last decade have since left the force, unable or unwilling to adapt, a testament to the failure of these left-wing recruitment policies. Amsterdam’s police chief, in an open reflection of the city’s ideological slant, even set a target to have half of all new recruits from immigrant backgrounds—regardless of competence or public safety priorities. This ideological experiment has transformed Amsterdam’s police force into a weakened entity, prioritizing unchecked diversity policies over the security of its own citizens.
Police Compromise and the “Halal Approval”
The compromising of Amsterdam’s police force runs even deeper. In 2019, it was revealed that certain officers had received a “satisfaction declaration” from the Al Ummah Mosque—a mosque linked to dangerous Salafist ideology. This “halal stamp of approval,” given for the officers’ compliance with Islamic principles, left citizens outraged. Since when do Dutch police operate “in the name of Allah”? And why were these officers allowed to promote this so-called “halal” status on social media without disciplinary action? This blatant alignment with political Islam marked a disturbing shift from the secular, neutral standards essential to a fair and just police force. Rather than defend its duty to all citizens, the Amsterdam police allowed itself to become a tool of Islamic appeasement. This scandalous kowtowing to Islamist approval is yet another reason Amsterdam’s Jewish community finds itself abandoned in its time of greatest need.
The alarming influence of the Al Ummah Mosque over Amsterdam’s police force didn’t end there. Just this February, the mosque proudly posted on Instagram about the police’s annual visit, accompanied by a photo, gloating: “Yesterday, the police made their annual visit to our mosque. We are grateful for their continued involvement in our neighborhood. Our sincere thanks go out to the police and, specifically, to community officer Mohsin for his dedication. Together, we are building a safe and connected community.”
The gratitude was directed at District Officer Mohsin Ben El Faquih Akalay, a Moroccan immigrant police officer, who RAIR further revealed to be openly aligning himself with Islamic nationalism, seen waving a Moroccan flag and cheering for his “Islamic nation” alongside a fellow officer in his patrol car.
More photos of Amsterdam Police Officer Mohsin Ben El Faquih Akalay that he proudly posted to his X (formally Twitter) account:
This annual “courtesy visit” to such a controversial mosque only fuels concerns that Amsterdam’s police, instead of upholding a secular and impartial stance, are now endorsing the very institutions that have ties to Salafist ideology.
Officer Mohsin Ben El Faquih Akalay was featured in the following video of officers going to the controversial Mosque:
In the following video he posted to his social media, Officer Mohsin praises the mosque broadcasting the highly controversial call to prayer. Former imam Tomas Samuel states that the adhan represents “shows power and control over the country” according to Islamic texts. Meanwhile, ex-Muslim Ridvan Aydemir likens it to a “warlike declaration” and implores European and North American cities to ban it.
Onze buren, moskee El Umma, hebben vandaag voor het eerst de oproep tot gebed versterkt gedaan. Reden hiervoor was om de gemeenschap een hart onder de riem te steken in deze roerige tijd waarin iedereen getroffen is. Al Ummah Mosque has been on the radar for foreign influence investigations; in 2020, a Dutch parliamentary committee scrutinized this mosque, among others, for funding from countries like Kuwait, Morocco, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and the United Arab Emirates. With such suspicious foreign ties, questions abound: Why do the Amsterdam police continue to engage in what amounts to Islamic appeasement? And how far has this foreign-funded ideology penetrated the police force that Amsterdam’s citizens rely on for protection?
The Blue Mosque Incident: Blurring of Lines Between Police and Religious Affiliation
The controversy surrounding Amsterdam’s police force reached a new peak in 2020, when officers were publicly filmed praying in uniform at the Blue Mosque—a mosque with well-documented ties to the Muslim Brotherhood and foreign funding from Qatar and other states. This incident sparked widespread outrage, as Dutch citizens questioned how law enforcement, committed to neutrality, could participate in religious practices while in uniform. This act not only erodes the essential separation of church and state but also sets a troubling precedent. As lawyer Kim Boon pointed out, personal religious expression is an individual right, but it should never intrude into professional duties—especially in a secular police force.
The inconsistency is glaring: officers were seen engaging in religious observance at a mosque, but such public displays have never occurred in Christian contexts. Politician Tjerk Langman emphasized this double standard, asking, “Why do they have to go to the mosque during Eid al-Fitr?”
This selective involvement severely undermines the impartiality that Dutch citizens expect from their police. Exacerbating the situation are the Blue Mosque’s extensive foreign connections and its provocative use of loudspeakers for the Islamic call to prayer, which RAIR Foundation reported as an assertion of ideological dominance over Amsterdam.
The reality is that the Blue Mosque’s ties to the Muslim Brotherhood and foreign financiers have allowed it to exert a disturbing influence over Amsterdam’s police. This dangerous entanglement of law enforcement with political Islam is not merely concerning; it represents a direct threat to the secular values and safety of Dutch society.
Failure in Action: Abandoning Citizens in Critical Moments
These deeply ingrained issues came to a head when Amsterdam police abandoned Israeli soccer fans en masse after the Ajax-Maccabi Tel Aviv match, leaving them vulnerable to violent Islamic mobs. One Israeli eyewitness described the terrifying experience of being left defenseless alongside other fans:
After the game, we traveled back alone, without any police escort. As soon as we exited the train, groups of masked individuals targeted us with firecrackers and explosions. When we pleaded with the police for help, they simply told us, ‘There’s nothing we can do. Stay in large groups.’ We were left defenseless, fearing for our lives all night, hiding in hotels and whispering to avoid detection. I felt like we were about to die. Police presence was nonexistent, leaving us stranded as our attackers prowled the streets, waiting for us.”
Critics argue that this failure of police response not only exemplifies the dangers of diversity-driven hiring but also reveals a troubling lack of accountability. In pursuit of a politically correct agenda, Amsterdam’s law enforcement now prioritizes inclusivity over competence, leaving its most vulnerable citizens unprotected. This radicalization of the police force has led to the outright refusal to protect Jewish lives during their most vulnerable moments, as seen in the unwillingness of some officers to guard Jewish sites due to “personal beliefs.” This dereliction of duty illustrates a police force that has lost sight of its mission, a direct consequence of its diversity-first agenda.
International Outcry and Dutch Responsibility
The violence in Amsterdam provoked an international outcry. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu publicly condemned the attacks as “very violent incidents” against Israeli citizens, quickly dispatching planes to Amsterdam to assist in evacuating hundreds of Israelis back to Israel. Following this, Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar offered the Netherlands investigative support, promising resources from the Israeli police to collect testimonies from victims and witnesses of what he called a “pogrom” in Amsterdam’s streets.
Expressing confidence in Dutch cooperation, Sa’ar asserted that “a practical way” to collaborate on the investigation would be found in the coming days. He urged decisive Dutch action, vowing that Israel would remain vigilant in its pursuit of justice. Sa’ar also praised Dutch officials, like Geert Wilders, the leader of the Dutch Party for Freedom (PVV), who recognized the gravity of the situation and shared Israel’s concern over the escalation of violence.
A Failing System? Wilders’ Frustration and Mounting Pressure on Dutch Authorities
Wilders voiced his disbelief over the absence of arrests related directly to the attacks. “The Amsterdam police have just confirmed that no one was arrested in the Islamic Jew-hunt in Amsterdam on Thursday night,” Wilders stated, denouncing the night’s events as a “pogrom.”
His remarks reflect a broader frustration felt by many in the Netherlands with the inadequacies of Amsterdam’s law enforcement and the dangerous implications of their diversity-driven hiring practices.
Promises of Protection Amid Rising Fear
In response to mounting criticism, Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof assured Israeli officials of the government’s commitment to protect the Jewish community. Yet the Dutch administration, still reeling from the incident, faces mounting pressure to restore confidence in Amsterdam as a safe and inclusive space for all.
For many, Amsterdam’s unchecked diversity agenda and blatant lack of accountability within its police force send a chilling message: the radical prioritization of inclusivity at all costs has left the city vulnerable to Islamic-driven violence and antisemitism, signaling that the security of its citizens has taken a backseat to ideology.
As the Netherlands remains under an international spotlight, the coming days will reveal whether Dutch authorities can reclaim a position of security and neutrality in safeguarding their Jewish community. But for now, Amsterdam’s officials are left to confront a disconcerting reality: a city where fear, unchecked Islamic violence, and antisemitism have not only risen—they have shaken Amsterdam’s very foundation.
