Foiled Islamic Terror Plot: Muslim Youths Arrested After Planning to Attack Vienna Pride Parade

Vienna, Austria – Austrian police have arrested three Muslim youths, aged 14, 17, and 20, on suspicion of planning an attack at Vienna’s annual pride parade, officials announced on Sunday. The parade, attended by hundreds of thousands of participants, proceeded without incident.

Jihadi Content and Targeted Attack

According to Omar Haijawi-Pirchner, the director of the Security and Intelligence Directorate of the State (DSN), the suspects, who are believed to have shared extremist content and sympathized with the Islamic State online, were apprehended before the start of the Pride Parade. The interior ministry confirmed that the suspects had specifically targeted the event as a potential attack location.

Weapons and Evidence Seized

Authorities conducted raids on two premises on Saturday, leading to the discovery of weapons and other evidence against the three individuals, all of whom are Austrian citizens with Bosnian and Chechen roots. Among the seized items were knives, throwing stars, an axe, air guns, gas guns, soft guns, and electronic devices such as cell phones and data carriers.

Prior Police Involvement and Attack Plans

One of the suspects was already known to the police, indicating a potential prior involvement in Islamic jihad activities. It was revealed that the group had planned to use knives or vehicles during the attack, according to statements made by the police.

Previous Vienna Attack

This incident comes less than a year after a deadly jihadi attack in downtown Vienna, where a convicted Islamic State sympathizer went on a shooting rampage, resulting in the deaths of four individuals and injuries to 23 others. The attack marked the Alpine nation’s first deadly jihadi assault.

Thwarting the Attack Plot

Prompt and decisive actions by the Viennese police and the Directorate for State Security and Intelligence (DSN) effectively thwarted the attack plot. The suspects were arrested shortly before the parade’s commencement, as DSN director Omar Haijawi-Pirchner announced during a press conference on Sunday morning.

The seized weapons included items that were prohibited under Austrian law. The suspects, Austrian citizens residing in Vienna and Lower Austria, are now facing charges of conspiracy to commit a crime. Authorities confirmed that the suspects did not resist arrest.

Muslim Terrorism and Open Border Policies

Interestingly, MP Shetty from the left-leaning party, The New Austria and Liberal Forum, who attended the Pride event, warns: “The danger of Islamist-motivated attacks on the LGBTIQ community has been increasing for years.” This increase has been exacerbated by Austria’s open borders policies implemented by left-wing politicians.

Islamic Faith, Homosexuality, and Homophobia

The Muslim treatment of the LGBT community is learned from their Islamic faith and their Prophet’s example. Islamic scripture and law teach that homosexuality is considered a vile form of fornication, punishable by death. A hadith depicts Muhammad specifying the punishment for homosexual activity: “Whoever you find doing the action of the people of Lut (Lot), execute the one who does it and the one to whom it is done.”

In multiple predominantly Muslim countries where migrants originate from, homosexuality can be punished with death, and practicing or publicly defending homosexuality is forbidden in most predominantly Muslim countries.

Despite the threat Islam poses to the LGBTQIA+ community, many gay rights advocates, left-wing politicians, and the media remain silent about Islamic homophobia. Their refusal to acknowledge the threat of Islamic migration to Austria allows chaos to spread, putting vulnerable communities and all non-Muslims at risk.

Rather than unequivocally denouncing Islam’s perilous animosity towards the LGBT community (as well as all non-Muslims), numerous Western governments and left-wing media outlets opt to downplay or dismiss incidents such as the recent plotted assault on LGBTQ individuals in Austria by three Muslim suspects. Furthermore, they often perpetuate a narrative that portrays all anti-LGBTQ sentiments as originating solely from white individuals, predominantly males.

They persistently assert that these incidents are isolated and do not accurately reflect Islam’s “true” nature, which they have sanitized and reshaped to suit Western consumption. However, by neglecting to address the genuine and pervasive issue of Islamic homophobia, they jeopardize vulnerable communities and place non-Muslims at risk. The price of shielding Islam from scrutiny is excessively high, particularly for sexual minorities within Western nations.
