The neighbors’ frustration has reached a breaking point as they witness the distressing sight of dinghies being unloaded with alarming ease and impunity. This latest incident occurred in Balanegra, Almería, but the frequency of immigrant arrivals on our shores in broad daylight, observed by numerous witnesses, is on a steady rise.
During these summer days, the arrival of dinghies to our shores is multiplying. Criminal gangs take advantage of favorable sea conditions to increase trafficking, and boats arrive daily. Residents in some specific regions, especially in Andalusia, the Valencian and Murcian coasts, and the islands, have reached their breaking point. These dinghies arrive in broad daylight, disembarking on beaches often crowded with families enjoying their vacations.
In the past hours, two videos have gone viral on social media, both from Almería. The first video was shot in the town of Balanegra, where residents captured yet another dinghy landing on their coast. Another landing was filmed by beachgoers in Mojácar. The beaches of Almería are particularly affected by this surge in illegal immigration. The data is striking and worrying: nearly 400 people have disembarked in the province through maritime routes in the last few days.’

One of the most alarming cases is in Adra, where Mayor Manuel Cortés has once again sent a desperate plea for help to the Government Sub-delegation. In his letter, he points out that dinghies’ “massive” arrival to their beaches has increased in recent weeks. This situation is causing “alarm among the residents, especially those living in coastal areas.”
The Local Police are overwhelmed. Additionally, during this summer, coastal and vacation spots experienced a significant population increase, which means managing more people with the same personnel, coupled with the rising influx of dinghies.
The Andalusian coast, especially in Almería and Granada, bears the brunt, but the problem extends throughout our coastal geography. It is a daily occurrence to read news about the arrival of immigrants in the Balearic Islands, the Canary Islands, Murcia, or the Valencian Community. For instance, in the past two weeks, the Murcian region has witnessed the arrival of 21 dinghies carrying 218 migrants. Similar situations repeat in other areas, demonstrating that illegal immigration remains unchecked.
