For many years, Iran has targeted anti-regime activists—especially Iranian expats living abroad—for assassination. Such incidents have occurred in various countries, including Germany recently and in the United States some years ago.
It’s noteworthy that the prominent news program 60 Minutes recently covered this pattern of targeted killings by Iran, albeit in an incomplete segment. However, they did give thorough attention to one specific case.
In 2011, Iran plotted to assassinate the Saudi Ambassador in Washington, D.C. At the time, reports indicated that Iran was also planning to target the Israeli Ambassador, Michael Oren. Although references to the Israeli element of this plot are sparse now, NPR does include a passing mention of it, but mainstream media coverage has largely omitted this detail.
In 2012, an Iranian expat and outspoken regime critic was shot dead in the U.S. while driving her father’s car. Although she was a well-known student activist, this case remains unresolved to this day.
Most recently, in September of this year, Iran is suspected of using state rapists to attack an expat Iranian living in Germany, who is an outspoken critic of the regime.
At this point, one may come to suspect that legacy news organizations take instructions from state departments in terms of what information the public may know, and that might shape public opinion on geopolitical matters.
The constant hanging and execution of homosexual men by the Iranian regime are curiously not discussed by legacy media, and if it is, it is disconnected from the Islamic motivation and justification for this action.
Much like Che Ernesto Guevara’s placement of homosexuals in slave labor camps are never discussed by the advocates of communism.
So, one might examine this story and the others listed here as exemplars of Iranian foreign policy. And when expat Iranians protest the treatment of women or political executions in your local city, go out and support them.
They are literally risking their lives to do so.
If we had the right leadership in this country Iran would be quiet as a church mouse.
“While Schwarzenegger said he has “plenty of disagreements” with the platform of Harris and running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, the actor said he wants “to move forward as a country” and “I think the only way to do that is with Harris and Walz.”
“Vote this week,” he said, sharing a link to Vote.org. “Turn the page and put this junk behind us.” ”
Oh no! Oh no! That Schwarzenegger seems to be a total idiot also!
