Four Muslim men, including an “Imam” and two brothers, have been charged with preparing a terrorist attack on behalf of the Islamic State (ISIS), with Jews and synagogues as the primary targets. This is not a case of “radicalization” but a clear expression of Islamic doctrines that openly condone hostility and violence toward Jews.
The religious defendants, all tied to the Islamic Cultural Association in Tyresö, south of Stockholm, are accused of working directly with ISIS, attempting to procure weapons and bomb materials, and recruiting others to join their jihadist cause. Evidence gathered from months of police surveillance, including wiretapped conversations, reveals the group’s meticulous planning and unwavering hatred for Jews.

Synagogues Were the Primary Targets
Police have confirmed that synagogues and Jewish gatherings were central to the plot. Senior prosecutor Lars Hedvall, leading the investigation, stated:
In these recordings, they spoke about synagogues and specifically about identifying the timing of Jewish gatherings. Jewish targets were their primary focus, though other targets were also mentioned.”
The older brother, described in the indictment as a ringleader, swore allegiance to two ISIS leaders and played a supervisory and coordinating role in the plot. Along with his younger brother, he sought bomb-making materials and weapons through criminal networks. Both brothers, in their 20s, are alleged to have recruited others for ISIS, disseminated propaganda, and received training in handling weapons. Their commitment to Islamic State’s objectives extended beyond Sweden, with the younger brother reportedly acting on behalf of ISIS in Somalia.
The brothers showed no remorse over the potential deaths of innocent children in their planned attacks, coldly referring to such casualties as mere “collateral damage.” They also reportedly endorsed the use of “minor Swedish perpetrators” in future operations, exploiting Sweden’s notoriously lenient sentencing laws to further ISIS’s violent agenda.
The Role of the “Imam”
The “imam,” a man in his 60s and a figure of influence within the Islamic Cultural Association, is alleged to have guided the brothers and other jihadists, providing religious justification for attacks. In his messages, he openly threatened Jews, writing:
“It is time for the Jews, the Zionists, to be driven off the face of the earth.”
Prosecutors describe him as an elder consulted on religious matters, who actively promoted jihad and advised ISIS affiliates in Sweden on potential targets and tactics.
A Fourth Operative
The fourth defendant, another Muslim man in his 20s, was reportedly in direct contact with ISIS and discussed plans to execute their directives. He is accused of possessing weapons and ammunition intended for jihad, and while no physical weapons were recovered, wiretaps revealed detailed discussions about specific types and models.
The Raids in Tyresö
In early March, the Security Police and National Task Force raided several locations in Tyresö, leading to the arrests of all four suspects. Weapons and other evidence were reportedly seized, and the defendants have since been charged with preparing terrorist acts and aggravated weapons offenses.

Evidence and Trial Details
Wiretap evidence forms a critical part of the prosecution’s case. Senior prosecutor Lars Hedvall emphasized the strength of this evidence:
We have strong evidence for this. Wiretap material is quite clear, and they say what kind of weapons, i.e., brand and type. One can also see the descriptions of weapons that showed up around these dates.”
Despite overwhelming evidence, all the defendants deny any wrongdoing. The trial is set to begin on December 10, 2024, and will continue until Christmas. This case exposes not only the immediate threat posed by these men but also the broader dangers inherent in Islam, which fuels violence and hatred against Jews and other non-Muslims.

I cannot believe one of the officers is looking at this phone during a raid on suspected terrorists! As a former police officer, this is the kind of behavior that gets officers killed. There have been cases where officers were so focused on their computers in their cars (MDTS) suspects walked up and shot them. There’s always one person who just can’t believe anything will ever happen to them.
