Birmingham, UK: In a recent sermon delivered on November 3, 2023, by Shaykh Habibul Gaffar Azhari, the head Imam of the Jami Mosque & Islamic Centre in Birmingham, UK, allegations of incitement to murder have surfaced. The sermon, which took place at the Jami Mosque & Islamic Centre, included inflammatory and threatening remarks targeting Israelis and Jews.
In front of his congregation, the controversial Imam was quoted as saying, “And the victory of the believers is our right. O Allah, hasten with Your victory, O Allah. O Merciful of the merciful. O Avenger, take revenge from the oppressors of the Zionists, the oppressors, the occupiers. O Allah, take revenge from them. O Allah, shake the earth from under their feet. O Allah, count them in numbers and kill them in numbers. And do not leave any of them.” The translated excerpt of the sermon was made available by the RAIR Foundation USA. Additionally, the Imam made various other controversial statements expressing support for Hamas and the Palestinian fight:
The Jami Mosque & Islamic Centre, established in 1973, is situated in a city where minorities comprise over half the population (51.4%). Birmingham, with a total population of 1,149,000, has a significant Muslim demographic, accounting for 29.9% of the population. Notably, the number of Muslim children in the city has surpassed that of Christian children.
Reports from Le Figaro in 2017 highlighted the Islamic transformation in Birmingham, citing different closing times for shops corresponding to daily prayers, religious bookstores, and travel agencies offering “Muslim-friendly” holidays with facilities promoting non-mixed spaces and gender-segregated swimming pools.
The controversial sermon comes amidst a backdrop of heightened tensions in the UK following the October 7 deadly attacks on Israelis and Jews by Hamas. Islamic and left-wing protests across the UK in support of Hamas have gained momentum, with reports of police struggling to maintain control.
Despite assurances from the Metropolitan police about taking “robust action” against antisemitic demonstrators, concerns have been raised about the lack of action against individuals such as Shaykh Habibul Gaffar Azhari.
Gideon Falter, chief executive of the Campaign Against Antisemitism, expressed dismay, stating, “Week after week, central London has become a no-go zone for Jews.” He cited instances of mass criminality, glorification of terrorism, and support for banned organizations like Hamas, leading to a sense of insecurity among the Jewish community in the capital.
The ongoing protests, characterized by inflammatory placards, face-hiding pro-Hamas masks, and Muslims using Islamic prayers to claim public spaces and iconic locations, underscore a growing challenge for authorities in addressing security concerns and potential incitement to violence.
In response to the ongoing conflict between Hamas and Israel, the Jami Mosque & Islamic Centre in Birmingham released a press release condemning the British government and calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza. Unsurprisingly, the mosque questions Israel’s right to defend itself and its citizens from Hamas, particularly in the aftermath of the terror group’s attack on Israel.
Furthermore, the press release exposes the mosque’s strategic maneuver to exploit the conflict for broader influence. The mosque is urging the UK government to ‘grant asylum and refuge to all Palestinians who have been displaced,’ presenting this call as a response to the humanitarian fallout of the conflict. However, these appeals are part of a broader Islamic agenda to leverage the situation to flood the country with Muslims further and continue Islamizing the UK.
Bury all terrorists with pig’s blood thrown over them. No more terrorism.
Why is this Imam still walking around ? Shouldn’t he be locked up or buried?
Take him out.
You have to ask, why hasn’t the UK expelled this Imam? Clearly, he does not fit in with what I know of Brits.
