In Japan, an Islamic attack on a holy site unfolded at the Mizuoka Hachiman Shrine in Tarumi Ward, Kobe City. Security cameras captured the actions of Muslim Mamadou Balde, a 29-year-old unemployed Gambian migrant, as he brazenly vandalized the shrine’s offerings. The video footage revealed a man dressed in yellow clothes entering the premises at approximately 9:30 am on May 3rd.
Without hesitation, Mamadou proceeded to kick the offertory box, causing significant damage. The security cameras also captured him tearing off a bamboo tube from the chozuya, a water basin used for hand purification, and forcefully slamming a wooden box onto another offertory box.
During the incident, a witness heard Mamadou shouting, “There is only Allah of Islam, so there is no God here, so don’t pray here.” These words echoed through the tranquil surroundings, leaving those present profoundly disappointed.
Following his arrest on suspicion of damaging property, Mamadou Balde, a citizen of the Republic of Gambia residing in Tarumi Ward, offered no comment to the police, stating, “I have nothing to say because I was arrested illegally.”

As the Japanese government takes extensive measures to safeguard its country and preserve its cultural heritage, they aim to prevent incidents like those experienced in Europe, where migrants have attacked cultural institutions and religious establishments on a continuing basis. With Japan’s refugee acceptance rate standing as the lowest among G20 nations, only 74 applications were accepted in 2021, while over 10,000 were believed to have been rejected, resulting in a success rate of less than 1%.

Regrettably, acts of desecration against holy sites and religious buildings by Islamic migrants have become a painful daily reality across the continent. Countless churches in Western Europe endure vandalism, defacement, and arson, highlighting the urgent need to address this escalating issue.
The perpetrators behind these attacks are often shielded from public scrutiny, and authorities and the media obfuscate their identities. In rare instances when the Muslim or migrant background of the perpetrators is revealed, they are often presented as individuals suffering from mental health issues. Any association between the desecration of Christian symbols and immigrant populations is met with accusations of hatred, hate speech, and racism, silencing essential discussions.
