Global Elites Feign Outrage Over Amsterdam Attacks on Jews—Yet Their Open Borders and Denial of Islam’s Threat Are to Blame (Videos)

Why is everyone so shocked that Jews are being hunted in the streets of the Netherlands, when Dutch politician Geert Wilders, who has bravely called out the dangers of Islam, has been under 24-hour police protection for nearly two decades, living in isolation and enduring constant death threats simply for daring to name the problem?

Amsterdam, ANP – What started as a UEFA Europa League soccer match between Maccabi Tel Aviv and Amsterdamsche Football Club Ajax turned into a night of terror for Israeli fans, who were violently attacked across Amsterdam in what has been described by Israeli leaders, activists, and international figures as a “modern pogrom.” Groups of Middle Eastern men wielding knives, baseball bats, and even vehicles ambushed Jewish fans after the game, forcing some to jump into canals or seek refuge in buildings and shops. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu dispatched rescue flights to evacuate Israeli citizens, calling for swift action against the mainly Islamic attackers and demanding accountability from Dutch authorities.

The Orchestrated Attacks: A Night of Terror

Shortly after fans exited the Johan Cruijff ArenA, organized groups of Muslims and their fellow Hamas supporters began targeting Israelis in ambushes around the city. Many fans, caught unaware, recounted how attackers waited on corners, outside hotels, and near transportation hubs to identify and pursue Jews. “They waited in groups on every corner,” reported one Israeli tourist. “As soon as they recognized Jews, they started chasing them.”

Eyewitnesses reported some victims being forced to chant “Free Palestine” before attackers let them go. Masked assailants chased fans, some of whom were beaten unconscious in the streets, while others sought protection in shops and even the Holland Casino. Video footage circulated widely on social media, showing a car hitting an Israeli tourist at full speed, leaving others bloodied and injured as they tried to flee. By the night’s end, at least twelve people were injured, with five hospitalized and two initially reported missing.

The brutality in Amsterdam is not only alarming but also a painful reminder for Jewish communities worldwide of Europe’s fraught history with anti-Semitism. Critics are now questioning left-wing leaders and open-border advocates who ignored past warnings about rising Islamic threats. Geert Wilders, leader of the Dutch Freedom Party (PVV), has spent years sounding the alarm on the dangers of unchecked immigration and Islam. Wilders, known as a fierce advocate for Jewish rights and an ally to Israel, has endured daily threats and lived under 24-hour security due to threats from Muslims, most of whom were brought to Europe under open-border policies. Yet, political leaders have marginalized and even attempted to silence him, labeling his concerns alarmist.

Dutch Police Response and Arrests

The Dutch police initially struggled to control the violence. Eyewitnesses reported delays in police intervention, with attackers using firecrackers against people and buildings before officers arrived. An Israeli eyewitness told Kan 11 News, “The police only started to intervene after about half an hour to 45 minutes into the attacks.” Authorities later confirmed 62 arrests on charges of public disorder and possession of fireworks, though police have yet to specify if those arrested were associated with pro-Palestinian or Hamas groups.

Dutch police are initially investigating reports of a possible hostage situation and missing persons, though they have not confirmed the existence of any kidnappings. As of the latest update, a press conference is scheduled at Amsterdam City Hall at noon today to address the investigation and the city’s response.

The recent attacks also highlight the lasting impact of Theo van Gogh’s murder nearly two decades ago. Theo van Gogh, a Dutch filmmaker, outspokenly criticized the influence of Islam on European society. In collaboration with Ayaan Hirsi Ali, he created the film Submission, which explored the repression of women within Islamic culture. This film ultimately led to his assassination by Mohammed Bouyeri, a Dutch-Moroccan Muslim who brutally shot and stabbed van Gogh on the streets of Amsterdam. Theo van Gogh’s murder was a grim forewarning of the Islamic violence and terror that has since unfolded, as Amsterdam now witnesses mobs chanting antisemitic slogans and hunting Jews on its streets. His brutal slaughter and the ongoing threat it symbolizes serve as a chilling reminder that ignoring the dangers of Islamic violence has real and violent consequences.

Israeli Government’s Rapid Response and Evacuation Efforts

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu convened an emergency assessment with military and foreign ministry officials. At 4:30 a.m. local time, he authorized two rescue planes to evacuate Israelis from Amsterdam. “The harsh pictures of the assault on our citizens in Amsterdam will not be overlooked,” read an official statement. Netanyahu urged the Dutch government to “take vigorous and swift action” to protect Israeli citizens.

The Israeli National Security Council advised Israelis in Amsterdam to remain in their hotel rooms, avoid displaying Jewish or Israeli symbols, and prepare for an early return to Israel. In addition to the rescue flights, the IDF Homefront Command mobilized medical and rescue teams to assist in Amsterdam, with coordination from the Dutch government.

Criticism of Dutch Security and Police Inaction

The police response to the attacks has drawn significant criticism from both Israeli and international observers. Many are questioning why security measures were not adequately in place to protect Israeli fans and why it took so long for authorities to intervene. Former Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett condemned the events as an “organized pogrom,” urging the international community to take immediate action to prevent further violence.

Concerns about security in Amsterdam’s Jewish community had already been heightened by a recent incident in October, when reports indicated that some Dutch police officers with Islamic backgrounds declined assignments to guard Jewish sites, citing personal beliefs. This refusal raised serious concerns within the Jewish community about their safety and the neutrality of police protection.

Critics argue that the same open-border, left-wing leaders who now express “shock” at anti-Semitic violence have long ignored Wilders’ calls for action, failing to address the rising threat of Islam and Islamic Jew-hatred.

In 2012, Dutch politician Frits Bolkestein controversially suggested that “recognizable Jews” should consider leaving the Netherlands due to the government’s inability to protect them. Wilders boldly countered, “Jews shouldn’t emigrate; antisemitic immigrants should.” This response was largely ignored by political leaders, who continued to downplay Wilders’ warnings even as public opinion grew increasingly anti-Israel and anti-Jewish. Today, many hold these leaders responsible, pointing out that this violence is the tragic result of years of negligence and disregard for mounting Islamic threats from Muslims that they, the European leaders, quite deliberately imported.

Israeli media further reported that police allowed Israeli fans to leave the stadium unescorted, exposing them to potential ambushes. Israeli Ambassador to the UN, Danny Danon, described the attackers as “supporters of radical terrorism,” calling on the UN to condemn the violence urgently and press the Dutch government to protect Jewish citizens.

The GreenLeft (GroenLinks) mayor of Amsterdam, Femke Halsema, paid lip service to the horror of the November 7 attacks; meanwhile, she continues to support open borders

Widespread International Outrage

The severity of the attacks has prompted swift international responses. Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof expressed horror, stating that the antisemitic violence was “completely unacceptable.” He promised that those responsible would be identified and prosecuted. In a call with Israeli President Isaac Herzog, King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands reportedly stated, “We failed the Jewish community of the Netherlands during World War II, and last night we failed again.”

Geert Wilders, leader of the largest political party in the Netherlands, called the violence “a Jew hunt in the streets of Amsterdam” and demanded the immediate arrest and deportation of those responsible, calling it “totally unacceptable.” He added, “We have become the Gaza of Europe. Muslims with Palestinian flags hunting down Jews. I will not accept that—never.”

Global Leaders Condemn the “Modern Pogrom”

Condemnations have poured in from leaders around the world. U.S. Special Envoy Deborah Lipstadt expressed horror, comparing the events to a “classic pogrom” and calling for an investigation into the delayed police response. U.S. Congressman Brad Sherman (D-Calif.) announced plans to discuss the attacks with the Dutch ambassador, calling it “outrageous.” Congressman Ritchie Torres (D-N.Y.) called the attacks the “monstrous manifestation of antisemitism,” saying those inciting such violence “have blood on their hands.” Rep. Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) warned that this incident underscores the “rise in anti-Semitism” globally.”’

Melissa Lantsman, Canadian MP, described the violence as “what ‘globalize the intifada’ looks like,” referencing calls for anti-Israel violence across Europe and North America. Jonathan Greenblatt, CEO of the Anti-Defamation League, demanded Dutch authorities take swift action, calling the violence an attack on basic freedoms.

Remembering Kristallnacht: A Stark Reminder of Europe’s Dark Past

The attacks took place just days before the anniversary of Kristallnacht, the Nazi pogrom that signaled the start of the Holocaust. Leaders, activists, and Jewish organizations have drawn strong parallels between the night’s violence and the events of 1938. “This horrific event cannot be condemned with words alone,” stated the International March of the Living. “The European Union and its member states must take action to prevent the next attack.”

Dutch Minister of Justice and Security David van Weel, who attended a Kristallnacht commemoration earlier that day, had not commented on the attacks at press time, sparking criticism. David Friedman, former U.S. Ambassador to Israel, remarked, “All this in 2024—three days before Kristallnacht’s anniversary. Unacceptable.”

Calls for Justice and Action

Numerous Jewish organizations have demanded accountability. The American Jewish Committee urged the Dutch government to ensure the safety of Israeli fans, while Agudath Israel of America labeled the events as “a modern-day pogrom.” Mark Dubowitz, CEO of the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, warned that Islam in Europe endangers all citizens. Former Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett echoed similar concerns, calling the incident “a wake-up call.”

A Night That Echoes Through Europe

The violent “pogrom” in Amsterdam is a harsh wake-up call for Europe’s handling of antisemitism. Yair Lapid, Israeli opposition leader, pointed out, “The scenes from Amsterdam remind us all of Europe’s darkest days.” He demanded that the Dutch government bring every attacker to justice, while Danny Danon implored the international community to confront the dangers of unchecked extremism.

But this isn’t some random, inexplicable resurgence of hatred. This is Islam and Islamic antisemitism—explicitly supported in the Quran and openly acted upon by the attackers. The violence that sent Israelis fleeing into the night should finally force the left to face reality: antisemitic hatred in Islam is real, it’s embedded in the text, it’s entrenched in the culture, and it’s been ignored for too long.

Today’s leaders would rather whitewash this truth, hoping people forget that Hitler was praised in parts of the Islamic world for his stance on Jews, his genocide admired, and his mission to eradicate Jews mirrored. Unlike Mein Kampf, which hinted at genocide, the Quran goes straight to the point, explicitly ordering Muslims to “slay” Jews and Christians who refuse to submit.

And the Quran isn’t vague in its hostility toward Jews. It’s crystal clear:

  • Relentless Enmity: “Jews are the strongest of all people in enmity toward Muslims” (5:82).
  • Fabrication: Accuses Jews of fabricating lies against Allah (2:79; 3:75).
  • Slander and Curse: Accused of slandering religion and being cursed by Allah (4:46)
  • Transformed as Punishment: Described as being turned into apes and pigs (2:63-65; 5:59-60; 7:166).
  • Command for Warfare and Subjugation: Muslims are ordered to wage war and subjugate non-Muslims (9:29).

These verses aren’t hidden, nor are the sentiments they spread. One infamous Hadith even describes how, in the end, times, Muslims are told they will hunt down Jews, with even stones and trees betraying Jews by calling out, “O Muslim, there is a Jew hiding behind me; come and kill him.” (Sahih Muslim, Book 41, Hadith 6985; Sahih Bukhari, Volume 4, Book 52, Hadith 177). This isn’t vague rhetoric—it’s an explicit call to violence, directly fueling the hatred that has spilled over into Europe’s streets once again. And it is written into the Hamas charter.

This Jew hatred isn’t a surprise revelation—it’s in the Islamic text, preached openly in mosques, and acted upon all across the world. And by welcoming this hatred into their countries under the guise of tolerance and open borders, Europe’s leaders have chosen to ignore the danger staring them in the face.

So here we are again: Europe’s streets witnessing open, violent antisemitism while communities are left to fend for their safety. Leaders have enabled this, allowed it to fester unchecked, and now feign surprise at the consequences. How many more nights like this will it take before Europe recognizes the cost of ignoring history’s warnings?
