In a disturbing video released on October 9, 2023, a group of French-speaking mujahideen, their faces concealed with Palestinian war scarves (keffiyehs), delivered a threatening message to the French population. The masked Muslims expressed their anger over what they perceived as French solidarity with Israel. They condemned those showing support for innocent Israeli citizens slaughtered and kidnapped on October 7, 2023, by Islamic terrorists.
On that day, Hamas, violating a ceasefire, launched a mass murder attack in Israel, resulting in the deaths of approximately 1,500 innocent Israelis. Additionally, the terrorist organization took around 240 civilians hostage, including nine French citizens who are still being held captive. Thirty-five French citizens lost their lives in the Hamas attack.
In a video message, the masked Muslims accused pro-Israel individuals of racism and Islamophobia. This accusation extended to anyone expressing concern for the innocent Israeli citizens who were either slaughtered or kidnapped. They asserted that these individuals spend their time insulting Palestinians, Arabs, and Muslims merely by showing any form of care for Jews and Israelis.
The video included a grave warning about the severe consequences of such provocations, hinting at escalating tensions in specific neighborhoods. The chilling message concluded with an unmistakable threat, declaring that their next communication would not involve dialogue but a more aggressive action. The individuals then showed a picture of the corpses lying in the main ballroom after the Bataclan Islamic massacre that happened on November 13, 2015.
The reference to the attack ten years ago in the video recalls a series of coordinated jihadist attacks in Paris and its northern suburb, Saint-Denis. The Islamic attacks left 130 people dead and more than 360 injured. The Bataclan Theater, where terrorists fired into the crowd during a concert, witnessed the brutal murder of 80 hostages and the horrific torture of many.
A recent Harris opinion poll highlighted growing concerns among the French population, with 82 percent fearing a wave of terrorism and 72 percent anticipating an attack similar to the October 7 Islamic attack, as reported by the Gatestone Institute. Brice Hortefeux, a former Minister of the Interior, acknowledged the validity of these concerns.
Over the past decade, France has endured over 400 terrorist attacks or attempts, mainly linked to the Middle East or the “Islamic World.” The country, home to Europe’s largest Jewish community (500,000) and a substantial Muslim population (around 7 million), faces heightened tensions, particularly in the aftermath of the October 7 attack.
France’s future appears to be shifting toward an Islamic trajectory, evident in its status as the leading Muslim country in Europe and the influx of 400,000 legal Muslim immigrants annually. Notably, this figure does not account for the number of undocumented jihadis pouring across their borders each year. Disturbingly, studies reveal a concerning trend, with a majority of young French Muslims prioritizing Sharia over the republic’s laws. Despite this awareness, French authorities remain inactive due to officials’ fear and reluctance to address over 750 ‘no-go zones’ and frequent Islamic and left-wing riots. An examination of these challenges is crucial, including the reported threats against Jews and non-Muslims in France.
