On Tuesday, August 19, 2024, Elon Musk posted a quote from JFK regarding the United Nations’ stance on Freedom of Speech at its inception. This was most likely in response to threats from the European Union against the TwitterX platform for hosting a discussion between Elon Musk and the 45th POTUS and leading candidate for the 2024 presidential election, Donald J. Trump.
The JFK speech, from a Voice of America commemoration given on February 26, 1962, included the excerpt Elon Musk posted below:
Below is the European Commission’s official letter to the X owner, which, in its style and demands, resembled the Soviet Union in no small way.
It was a striking coincidence that the planned broadcast of the Trump-Musk conversation was delayed by over half an hour due to a DDoS attack despite the equipment being stress-tested in anticipation of millions of listeners.
A cybersecurity expert RAIR Foundation spoke to suggested that this was a “state-level” attack.
But who would do such a thing? And why?
While JFK’s words effectively reminded us of the UN’s original purpose in protecting personal liberties, this starkly contrasts the current EU Commission’s threats against those who allow the free flow of information that the UN so passionately defended at its inception. It might be worth examining the UN as it stands today.
What follows is a speech given by the current Secretary-General of the United Nations, António Guterres, on June 18, 2019, when he launched “The United Nations Strategy and Plan of Action on Hate Speech.”
The United Nations now expects all member states to restrict speech according to its deliberately undefined “hate speech” regulations. But how does this relate to the EU? After all, Kennedy was referring to the principles of Free Speech as envisioned by the United Nations when it was created. Yet, the threat letter came from the European Union Commission. How does that connection work?
Below, Soviet expat dissident Vladimir Bukovsky explains the structure of the EU in a video made over seven years ago. In it, he makes startling comparisons between the structure of the Soviet governing system and the European Union, highlighting how the actual powerful figures in the EU appoint each other and are not elected, as well as how they, like their Soviet counterparts, are permanently shielded from criminal prosecution.
Shortly after becoming known for his stance on the true nature of the European Union, Vladimir was ‘discovered’ to have illicit materials on his laptop, leading to his imprisonment in the UK. He subsequently passed away in October 2019.
