House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s Deputy Chief of Staff Drew Hammill dismissed revelations about Rep. Eric Swalwell’s relationship with Chinese spy Christine Fang, saying that the controversy was just a method for House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) to “distract from his continued kowtowing to QAnon…”
Rep. Eric Swalwell, who serves on the House Intelligence Committee, would be a very desirable target for a young spy. Swalwell is clearly not the brightest bulb and would have access to the most sensitive classified information based on his role on the committee. Fang evidently courted other politicians, as well, including “two Midwest mayors as part of her operation from 2011 to 2015”.
Rep. McCarthy expressed his concerns on Laura Ingraham’s show on Fox News (see clip):
Rep. Eric Swalwell has years-long ties with a reported spy from China. Did Nancy Pelosi know that when she appointed him to the House Intelligence Committee? pic.twitter.com/phxYWT7Yf5

Ironically, Swalwell has been very vocal about President Trump’s media-contrived connections with Russia.
Once again, it is clear that the left accuses others of what they are doing themselves.
Swalwell received a “defensive briefing” about Christine Fang in 2015, but did not alert his Republican colleagues on the committee, according the the New York Post. In their initial report, Axios reported that “federal investigators became so alarmed by Fang’s behavior and activities that around 2015 they alerted Swalwell to their concerns…” Somehow authorities allowed Fang to leave the country during the investigation.
Regarding concerns expressed by Rep. Kevin McCarthy on the revelations, Pelosi shill Drew Hammill was quoted as saying:
“Minority Leader McCarthy is trying to distract from his continued kowtowing to QAnon and his refusal to heed the call of the Anti-Defamation League to refuse to seat his QAnon members on congressional committees, including critical national security committees,” Hammill claimed.
Hammill declined to say whether Pelosi knew of Swalwell’s relationship with the spy before she placed him on the Intelligence committee, but he did say that Pelosi has “full confidence” in Swalwell’s ability to continue serving as a member of Congress and on the committee.
Nancy Pelosi echoed the sentiment:
Pelosi says Kevin McCarthy is focusing on Swalwell's interaction with the suspected Chinese spy bc he "has Qanon in his delegation over there. That I think is a danger in terms of our debate here about what the possibilities are for undue influence to members of Congress." pic.twitter.com/7cuQWcAz1J
