Syrian Migrant Stabs 4-Year-Old: Judge Attacks Conservative Party Instead of Defending Citizens—Open Borders Fueling Violence

In the Allgäu region of Germany, a migrant stabbed a little girl four times, seriously injuring her—she barely survived. Yet, the Syrian attacker will not have to go to prison. The judge used the verdict as an opportunity to incite criticism against the AfD.

A regional court in Ravensburg sentenced Mohamed S. to life in a psychiatric hospital following a knife attack. The prosecutor had charged him with attempted murder, a charge supported by the jury. The attacker, a Syrian who also holds a Dutch passport, stabbed a four-year-old girl in a supermarket in Wangen im Allgäu in early April of this year.

He is now considered not criminally responsible for the near-fatal, life-altering multiple stabbings due to an apparent mental illness.

During the trial, he claimed to have had a divine inspiration. Without warning, he stabbed the child with a 20-centimeter-long knife, delivering “four powerful stabs” that tore the girl’s intestines and stomach to shreds. He then fled the scene.

While the child’s mother rushed her to a hospital, the police arrested Mohamed S. In addition to the co-plaintiff and the public prosecutor, the attacker’s legal counsel supported the psychiatric care decision. No one appealed the verdict, which is now legally binding.

Judge: Swabians Can Also Be Knife Attackers

According to the Schwäbische Zeitung, senior public prosecutor Christine Weiss expressed clear concerns about the future behavior of the now 35-year-old attacker. She concluded that Mohamed S. suffers from “paranoid schizophrenia in an acute phase” and is extremely dangerous. She also doubted his capacity for empathy. “There is no sign of any improvement in the man, and there remains a significant risk that he will commit serious crimes,” she said. Therefore, there was no alternative but to place him in a psychiatric hospital.

Presiding judge Veiko Böhm remarked that it was “difficult to bear” that the AfD parliamentary group was making inquiries about the case and exploiting the crime for its own ideological purposes. He emphasized, “The knife attack has nothing to do with Islamist radicalism; it is solely the result of mental illness.” He further noted that “a Swabian man could also commit such an act, but in that case, there would be no AfD parliamentary group making such inquiries.”

The Mayor’s Response

Michael Lang, the mayor of Wangen (independent), expressed his shock shortly after the attack, stating: “The fact that a child is suddenly attacked is something that shocks us all and makes us incredibly upset and dismayed.” He mentioned that he knew the victim’s family. Wangen has a population of approximately 25,000 people.
