UK Labour MP Who Urged Islamic Grooming Gang Victims to 'Stay Silent for Diversity' Sworn in on Quran

This action placed Naz Shah at the center of a heated controversy. Widespread outrage erupted over the implication that a politician was urging victims of the Rotherham grooming gang scandal to remain silent. The backlash has prompted calls for a thorough investigation into her conduct.

Shah, a Muslim born in Bradford, England, to Pakistani parents, has openly spoken about her Islamic faith and its influence on her life and political views.

Background

The Rotherham child sexual exploitation scandal involved organized child sexual abuse in the town of Rotherham, South Yorkshire, England. From the late 1980s to the 2010s, approximately 1,400 children were sexually exploited by predominantly Pakistani but nearly entirely Muslim men. Many sources and advocates, however, claim that the actual number of victims could be significantly higher, as many cases may have gone unreported. The scale and severity of the abuse were documented in a 2014 report by Professor Alexis Jay, which criticized local authorities for their failure to act.

A book was also published with a great deal of information taken primarily from public sources about the epidemic of Islamic rape gangs across the UK called Easy Meat.

Allegations Against Naz Shah

The controversy began when Naz Shah was accused of asking victims to remain silent about their experiences. This shocking and abusive stance not only undermines the victims’ but also perpetuates a culture of silence around sexual abuse. Shah’s alleged comments have drawn major condemnation.

The question as to the connection between her Islamic faith and the fact that a near 100% of the rape gangs are Muslim was not examined by the media, but it is a connection that cannot be ignored.
