He highlighted the financial strain on Dutch families, citing, “To finance this ‘Migrant Resort,’ The Netherlands is being saddled with a gigantic tax burden of 60%.” Etalle expressed grave concerns about the long-term implications of current immigration policies, warning of the potential extinction of centuries-old Dutch families and the erosion of Dutch culture.
Etalle’s powerful speech underscored the stakes involved in shaping the future of Den Haag and the Netherlands as a whole. As the discourse continues to unfold, immigration policy will clearly remain a contentious issue with profound implications for Dutch society’s social cohesion and identity.
