Democrats: Open to Immigration—But Not in My Backyard
Liberals often pride themselves on their humanitarian values, frequently positioning themselves as the champions of compassion and equality and quickly labeling others as less tolerant. However, this professed empathy seems to falter when faced with a real-life scenario. When asked if they would welcome migrants into their own homes, many Democratic voters—including supporters of Kamala Harris—express a clear reluctance.
In a very telling experiment, YouTuber Seth Meiring aimed to highlight this disparity between ideals and actions. He picked up a group of undocumented illegals and drove them to neighborhoods in California known for their liberal stances on immigration. These are areas where residents typically see themselves as advocates of tolerance and inclusivity.
The assumption was simple: if these residents are supportive of immigration policies that open the country to more undocumented illegals, they’d surely be willing to open their doors to them. However, as Meiring’s encounters revealed, the enthusiasm for left-wing immigration policies often stops at the threshold of personal space.
The results mirrored previous experiments that had attempted to test the same idea. Many left-wingers, though vocal about the nation’s responsibility to welcome migrants, are less willing to shoulder that responsibility on a personal level. Watch a similar 2019 video from Sweden below:

Swedes were asked if they should take "Refugees" into their homes, virtually all answered “YES!”
But seconds later, when they are given the opportunity to take in an actual "Refugee"….they are singing a very different tune! #LeftistHypocrites pic.twitter.com/rcE3Gfh7FC
