Jihad In Florida: Bangladeshi Immigrant Plotted ISIS Attack to Kill Deans at Miami Dade College and Broward College!

The FBI began to watch Rashid in approximately April 2018 after he posted threatening Facebook posts advocating “for the violent overthrow of democracy and the establishment of Islamic law.”

Federal investigators arrested 23-year-old Salman Rashid of North Miami Beach, Florida, in South Florida on Monday, November 25, 2019. Rashid was born in Bangladesh and is a naturalized U.S. citizen.

According to the Justice Department, the Federal Bureau of Investigation arrested Salman Rashid for for soliciting another person to commit a violent crime against college deans at two Florida colleges.

The FBI began to watch Rashid around April 2018, after he posted anti-American and threatening Facebook posts advocating “for the violent overthrow of democracy and the establishment of Islamic law.”

“Sharia is Islamic Law.  It is the religious legal system that governs the political, social and moral duties of faithful Muslims.  It is what is meant by “God’s Law.”

Sharia is based on the Sunnah – the way of life of Muhammad as recorded in the Hadith (traditions).  It is an organized body of rules derived from various Quran verses and historical narrations.

In May 2019, and without provocation, Rashid solicited undercover agents who he thought were members of ISIS to carry out a terrorist attack on his behalf at either a religious building or nightclub.

Around November 8-9, 2019, Rashid chose two specific individuals to target, a dean at Miami-Dade College and a dean at Broward College, two colleges Rashid had been suspended or expelled from. Rashid requested the explosive devices the undercover agents would use to carry out the attack would be as big as possible. “Rashid provided information about the locations to place the devices and his assessment of security that might be present at the colleges.

According to the Justice Department, “If convicted, Rashid faces a statutory maximum sentence of 20 years in prison. Rashid’s pretrial detention hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2019 at 10 a.m. and his arraignment is scheduled for Dec. 9, 2019.”

What remains unclear is where Rashid became radicalized? Rashid’s facebook page is filled with sermons from Imam’s and quotes from islamic holy books, islamic holiday’s, islamic law, and islamic leaders from around the world.

Did the FBI investigate his family’s beliefs? Did Rashid attend Mosque in Florida? If he did, will the FBI investigate the mosque he worshipped at or would this be considered “islamophobic”?
