Seven leaders of the Remnant Fellowship Church, including Joe Lara, his wife Gwen Shamblin Lara and other church leaders are presumed dead after their plane crash-landed in a lake in Tennessee.
The church in Brentwood was slandered in the local press on Saturday, particularly by an unacceptable smear piece by Keith Sharon and Adam Tamburin posted at the Tennessean.
Those presumed dead are William J. Lara, Gwen S. Lara, Jennifer J. Martin, David L. Martin, Jessica Walters, Jonathan Walters, and Brandon Hannah.
Gwen Shamblin Lara was known for her big blond hair and her “Weigh Down Ministries,” which is explained on their website:
Over 30 years ago, in a small retail setting, Gwen began the ‘Weigh Down Workshop’ a Bible study series that directed hurting, imprisoned souls how to turn away from destructive vices and unwanted behaviors and emotions – such as overeating, alcohol indulgence, anger and depression – and point them to a genuine relationship with God.
Tennessean “journalists” Keith Sharon and Adam Tamburin “reported”:
Gwen Lara had said being overweight was a sign of greed and gluttony. She said children were to obey parents, wives were to obey husbands and members were to obey church leaders.
Leftist “journalists” who use every opportunity to belittle non-socialists is getting more evident by the day. RAIR Foundation USA prays for the families and friends of the seven lost and the congregation of the Remnant Fellowship Church.
