Italy's Salvini: 'Israel Must Be Defended By All Means - Hamas are Terrorists' (Video)

After Salvini voiced his support for Israel, he received an onslaught of violent death threats and insults from young “integrated second-generation” Islamic migrants living in Italy

In front of the ancient Portico d’Ottavia, in Rome, Italy, a demonstration of solidarity took place for Israel. The Jewish community of Rome organized the pro-Isreal event and was joined by Lega Party leader Matteo Salvini, among other well-known figures. Salvini, a long-time friend to Israel and Jews, took to the stage to declare his unwavering support to the Jewish state that has been under attack by Islamic terrorist group Hamas since May, 7. 2021.

Salvini and his party are the official “Make Italy Great Again” party who defends traditional Italian and Western values, borders and have a Trump-like “Italy First” message. Salvini has been an outspoken advocate of U.S. President Donald Trump and supported his decision in December 2017 to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. “Jerusalem will have to be the capital of Israel for me,” said the Lega leader.

“Being here with you this evening was not my right. It was my duty as a man, as a father, and as an Italian citizen. Whoever harms Israel harms you and harms me”, declared Salvini in front of the large crowd. “I think that here there is a desire for peace, the right to life and work but also the right to clarity: If someone is a terrorist, they are supposed to be called terrorists. If Hamas is a terrorist organization, it has to be called a terrorist organization,” Salvini said.

Leaders and Institutions Remains Silent

The Lega leader urged the Italian government to support Israel and issue a public statement, “say that we are on the side of freedom, democracy, peace, and human rights.” Salvini continued, “We expect the government to do this, because of the clear anti-Israeli and anti-Semitic attitude that some international organizations have.”

Salvini posted a part of his speech on his Twitter account with the statement, “I expect a clear stance from the Italian government, have the courage to say that Hamas and Islamic Jihad are TERRORISTS: they do not want peace but destruction.”

Salvini did not just save his criticism for the Italian government but also slammed “European institutions, the UN and many governments” for their “deafening silence” on the Islamic attacks. Because of the long history of hatred many of these institutions have towards Jews and Israel, Salvini believes the Italian government’s clear support of the nation is vital,

We expect the government to do this, because of the clear anti-Israeli and anti-Semitic attitude that some international organizations have, as the president of the Jewish community said. These organizations have taken a clear stance against Israel dozens of times, whereas they said nothing about the violation of fundamental human rights in other parts of the world. They do not side with peace, if you ask me.

Muslims threaten Salvini with death for supporting Israel

During his powerful speech, Salvini addressed the violent death threats and insults he has been receiving over the last few days from young “integrated second-generation” Islamic migrants living in Italy. Muslims are furious Salvini is voicing support for Israel on his social media channels.

I realized that, unfortunately, many of them are teenagers of 14, 15, or 16 years of age, and that is something that we are supposed to know, as public servants. And they are children from the so-called second-generation migrants, those who are integrated. Who study in our high schools or our universities in Rome, Milan, Trieste, Bologna, and Naples.

Salvini was referencing his following Facebook and Twitter posts in which he voiced his support for Israel. The leader’s posts drew an onslaught of death threats and insults:

Salvini posted some of the threats he received and wrote, “Good day to those who love peace, freedom, and a smile. And good day also to those who wish me dead and to those who insult my poor mother in their language, they must have serious problems poor things, they all seem very integrated and respectful to me … Peace and love.

Salvini expresses his concern as a father and an Italian about his country’s safety with migrants who express such “hatred and wickedness.” The leader questioned what will happen one day if one of these “madman” migrants is recruited by Islamic Hamas. Salvini expressed his desire to be like Israel, “a model of democracy and freedom,” unlike Islam,

If someday we are forced to choose between democracy, respect, tolerance and human rights, and on the other side, the hatred fueled by Islamic fundamentalism, I would never want the latter to prevail over our values.

During Salvini’s 14 months as interior minister, Salvini stopped several boats from docking in Italy to stop the invasion of illegal and dangerous migrants into Italy. Salvini regularly exposed the so-called NGO charities as people smuggling operations. Since he left office, Italy has been facing an onslaught of illegal and often dangerous migrants.

Watch the following speech by Lega Party leader Matteo Salvini,

The left-wing leaders and governmental agencies’ silence towards the attacks on Israel and criticism of the Jewish state does not come as a surprise. As reported previously as RAIR, the left and Islamic Supremacists have a long history of uniting to destroy their common enemy: those who believe in sovereignty and individual freedom. These values are inherent, for example, in the Jewish state of Israel, which both of these groups seek to destroy.

History has shown that this unholy alliance, known as the Red/Green Axis, will fight shoulder to shoulder to gain global domination, then turn on one another and, in the end, fight to destroy the other.

Video Transcript

I do believe there is so much desire here for peace.

For the right to life, the right to work, the right to
freedom, but also the right to clarity.

If someone is a terrorist, they are supposed to be called terrorists.

If Hamas is a terrorist organization, it has to be called terrorist organization.

If Hezbollah is a terrorist organization, it has to be called terrorist organization.

And if Iran believes Israel is a cancer that must be
wiped off the face of the Earth, we cannot trade or
work with Iran.

Because a country that wants to wipe another country
off the face of the Earth does not deserve political
dialogue.

I must say: thank you for welcoming me here.

I have broad shoulders, but I must confess I am
really shocked by how many insults and wicked barbs I have received in the space of just 24 hours just for defending
Israel’s right to exist.

Last night I couldn’t fall asleep since I was shocked
after watching those videos of Israeli people forced
to live in bomb shelters with their families.

And I must open a parenthesis: apparently for some
Italian media, the state of Israel and what’s happening
in Israel are not news.

And it’s a shame. But what shocked me the most was
what I realized reading some haters’ posts last night,
since I couldn’t fall asleep.

I read death threats, even in peculiar languages. I
had to use Google translate to figure out someone was
insulting my mother, even if they never met her, poor
her.

Nevertheless, there is something that shocked me and made
me reflect as a father, for I have an 18-year-old son
and a 8-year-old daughter.

I checked out the accounts of those who insulted me and threatened me with death and bloodshed.

And I realized that unfortunately many of them are
teenagers of 14, 15 or 16 years of age, and that is
something that we are supposed to know, as public servants.

And they are children from the so called second-generation migrants, those who are integrated.

Who study in our high schools or in our universities
in Rome, Milan, Trieste, Bologna and Naples.

They expressed such a hatred and wickedness that deeply concerned me, as an Italian.

Because some madman who now is recruited by Hamas
and therefore considered a distant problem by some
Italians could come here someday, Heaven forbid.

If someday we are forced to choose between democracy,
respect, tolerance and human rights, and on the other
side, the hatred fueled by Islamic fundamentalism,
I would never want the latter to prevail over our values.

I do believe that Israel is a model of democracy and
freedom and must be defended by all means without any
ifs or buts, all over the world.

For all these reasons I thank you for being here and
I hope that the Italian media will show this wonderful gathering.

As I said to some children and mothers, this gathering
is not against someone.

The people gathered here do not hate anybody.

This community doesn’t want other communities to be
wiped off the face of the Earth, but just wants to live
in peace.

And I expect the Italian government to take a clear
stance on this.

Saying that we are on the side of freedom, democracy,
peace and human rights.

We expect the government to do this, because of the
clear anti-Israeli and anti-Semitic attitude that some international organizations have, as the president of
the Jewish community said.

These organizations have taken a clear stance against
Israel dozens of times, whereas they said nothing about
the violation of fundamental human rights in other parts
of the world.

They do not side with peace, if you ask me.

So the peaceful coexistence in that marvelous land is
both my and your purpose.

Being here with you this evening was not my right.

It was my duty as a man, as a father, and as Italian
citizen.

Whoever harms Israel, harms you and harms me.

I wish you all a good life, peace and good luck!

Thank you for this great initiative.
