On July 8, 2021, Joe Biden held a press conference at the White House to discuss the withdrawal of U.S. troops from Afghanistan. The embattled left-wing leader declared, “There’s going to be no circumstance where you see people lifted off the roof of an Embassy of the United States of America from Afghanistan.”
Biden lectured the media that Americans would not see any images reminiscent of the U.S. evacuation from Vietnam at the end of that war. In 1975, Americans were forced to flee Vietnam and had to be airlifted from the roof of the U.S. embassy in Saigon. Biden even scolded the media for attempting to compare the Taliban’s capabilities to the North Vietnamese Army,
The Taliban is not the south, the North Vietnamese army. They’re not, they’re not remotely comparable in terms of capability. There’s going to be no circumstance where you see people being lifted off the roof of a embassy in the, of the United States from Afghanistan. It is not at all comparable.
