On December 22, 2019, RAIR Foundation reported on a speech by Åsa Westerberg, the Swedish anti-sharia activist. As a result of her social media posts, Westerberg’s home was forcibly entered and raided by a special anti-“hate” goon squad. The police raid was prompted by animal abuser and ex-police officer, Tomas Åberg, a state-funded “social media hate crime examiner.”
Westerberg stood trial on December 12, 2019 at Södertörn District Court. Westerberg was accused of writing a number of critical posts on Mewee, a social media platform. The posts subjects focused on the intolerance, abuse and misogyny experienced under Sharia.
Westerberg was also accused of slandering “hate crime examiner”, Tomas Aberg, who according to Westerberg “ran a mass-reporting campaign” (i.e. encouraging people to report her to police for thought crimes) against her. Based on Åberg’s continuous accusations and campaigns, police physically attacked, arrested and then locked Westerberg in solitary confinement until she supplied them with a DNA sample.
Tomas Åberg
Forty-three year-old Åberg, a former, disgraced police officer, is now the head of the radical online “hate” monitoring group, “Näthatsgranskaren”. He receives tax funds for mass reporting Swedes who write critically about migration and Islam on social media channels.
Åberg founded the vigilante organization with a friend, because, he said, he did not think that “serious internet crimes” were being dealt with in Sweden. “We created our own proprietary search application,” he declared in a 2018 interview, “which finds words and phrases that might be suspected of constituting incitement against ethnic groups, upsetting, and illegal threats”.
Åberg’s organization, Näthatsgranskaren, is reminiscent of similar groups, such as “Tell Mama” and “HOPE not hate” in the United Kingdom or the “Southern Poverty Law Center,” “Data & Society” or the “Poynter Institute” in America (just some of many) that seek to silence criticism of Islam and leftist policies by any means necessary, including intense deplatforming advocacy.
Backed by millions in grants from the state, Tomas Åberg tries to scare people into silence who would otherwise post immigration-critical comments. As of 2018, Asberg had mass reported over 750 people and claims 14 percent of them have gone to prosecution, and about seven percent to conviction. This means that the Nethatshatskerner has got around 80 people sentenced for “hate against people“.
Currently Asberg’s thought crime team is made up of some 15 people, including police, system developers, lecturers, lawyers and social scientists. The organization refuses to identify the people working for it.
“Swedish Hero” who tortured animals to death
Åberg was even nominated for the “Swedish Hero” award by one of their major newspapers, Aftonbladet. However, the nomination was withdrawn when it was discovered that he had abused animals to death during a time when he was a caretaker at a farm in Närke in 2013.
If Åberg receives the hard earned tax funds of Swedish citizens to chase supposed thought crime criminals, then it would be reasonable to assert that he should stay within the actual confines of Swedish laws himself.
Tomas Åberg was previously called Tomas Bergström until 2013 when he was charged with animal husbandry bans. It was reported by the Swedish news site, Samnytt, Bergström switched his name to Åberg, to avoid his criminal past from being discovered. Åberg went to so far as to move to Tanzania for two years in an effort to exhaust Sweden’s statute of limitations on the animal abuse crime and to avoid unpaid debts and fines. Åberg returned to Sweden only as the statute of limitations on his crime was expired.
The animal torture incidents caused great anger in Tomas Bergström community. “Of the dead animals in the fence, parts of two animals were sent for autopsy. The grave showed negative energy balance (starvation), which with certainty gave the diagnosis of bullying which caused suffering for the animals, ” writes the county administrative board in its decision, reports New Times.
Did the Swedish police force know about Åberg’s animal abusing past before allowing him on the police force? Did police finally fire Åberg because his controversial past was discovered or because of his troubling actions on the force?
Investigative journalist Joakim Lamotte spoke to colleagues of Åberg’s from the police force who reported he was pushed out of the force stating, “he received financial compensation in the form of many monthly wages if he left the police.”
It was reported that Åberg abused his position as a police officer to harass and investigate people with whom he had a personal grievance;
Åberg played sheriff and used his police department to harass people with whom he thought he had a personal problem. His colleagues didn’t want anything to do with him.
It was revealed he frequently abused police data systems to investigate people and situations for which he had not been assigned.”
It is not surprising that that Åberg is misusing his current tax-funded position to intimidate Lamotte and others who expose his past.
One wonders how anyone who abuses innocent helpless animals and leaves them for dead can be perceived as having any level of moral authority and now receive funding by the Swedish government with taxpayer money. What makes an animal abuser who flees the country qualified to decide what speech is allowed in Sweden?
As reported by Gatestone, “It is curious that the Swedish state can afford to give more than half a million Swedish kroner away to a private vigilante organization, run by a seemingly shady figure, at a time when the Swedish police are starved for resources and barely have time to investigate the very crimes, including horrific gang rapes, which are causing these ‘hateful’ social media posts to begin with.”
The Persecution of Asa Westerberg
At Westerberg’s trial, no technical evidence was presented, such as IP addresses, proving that it was actually her who was behind the profile that was critical of Åberg, Sharia or the effects of Sweden’s mass illegal migration problem.
Westerberg has denied that she was behind the profile. However, regardless of who wrote the comments, she believes people have the right to to comment on the effects of Sharia and the horrific abuses inflicted on people, animals. Westerberg stated;
Because if you pleaded guilty to expressing forbidden feelings and thoughts, regardless of who writes them, if criticism is forbidden, if it’s forbidden to criticize evil and nasty attacks, if it’s then forbidden to criticize burning children alive in cages and forbidden to criticize the marriage of 9-year-old children and raping them; if that is criminalized and draws a prison sentence, then all is lost!
The society which is described in the Orwell novel, 1984, won’t be sufficient
Interview with Asa Westerberg
Below is an interview with Ms. Westerberg recorded immediately after her trial before the judgement in her case was handed down. The interviewer is from the Swedish dissident channel SWEBBTV.
Many thanks to Kronans Martell (Ullis News) for the translation
Åsa Westerberg:
I expect to be judged innocent on all counts. If I’m not, then I will appeal for sure.
Interviewer:
We are at the trial of Åsa Westerberg, who is accused of ‘incitement to racial hatred’. It is claimed that Åsa wrote a series of posts criticizing Islam on a social media platform called Mewee.
She is also accused of defaming the state-financed Internet Hate Inspector Tomas Åberg. Because of these accusations, the police brutally arrested her by breaking into her house, and abused her during the arrest.
The police transported her to jail for interrogation, where she was kept in solitary confinement for several days, to force her to submit to a DNA test while threatening her with prolonged solitary confinement in prison.
No technical evidence at all was presented at the trial, such as IP addresses or any such materials proving that it was Åsa who owned the profile accounts.
The trial was in Södertörn’s county court in Stockholm on Dec 12, 2019. The verdict will be handed down on Dec 23.
(Update to the case:
Despite police storming into Westerberg’s apartment, abusing her and confiscating all of her electronic devices, a Swedish court being unable to prove Westerberg was behind the Mewee account. Shockingly, she was still convicted by the District Court of Södertörn for, among other things, incitement against an ethnic group [hets mot folkgrupp] and gross defamation. Westerberg was forced to pay and SEK 10,400 [$1,150] in fines, and 25,000 SEK in damages to Tomas Åberg.
Meanwhile, the shady animal torturer who changed his name to have his troubling past hidden and was pushed out of the police force, is free to continue policing interest users for hate speech.)
I’m here with Åsa Westerberg who has just came out of the trial. How do you feel?
Åsa Westerberg:
It’s somewhat nice that it’s over, but I can’t stop feeling horribly irritated about having to be here at all. I’m now ‘biased’ after being accused of this thought crime, but I still think there are other subjects that are more important than investigating how people express their feelings on the internet.
For example, solve bombing cases or rape cases.
Interviewer:
What I haven’t understood so far is the incrimination of “hate” crime. Hate is a feeling — do they mean that feelings are crime?
Asa Westerberg:
It seems so! The only way I can understand it is that feelings and thoughts are forbidden in today’s Sweden.
I had ironically the novel 1984, I pointed it out… I actually did read it, so it isn’t just an irony. I referred to it in order to remind them about the society that George Orwell described back in the 1940s, which depicts ‘crimes’ similar to those I am accused of today.
It’s difficult to restrain feelings; you can’t cease hating what is wrong. You can’t allow yourself to have no feelings about animal abusers or rapists. It is absurd that hate would be a crime.
Interviewer:
It is stated in the law that this is a crime? Because it seems that these sorts of accusations and criminal suspicions appeared suddenly in the last few years.
Asa Westerberg:
My lawyer and I looked for it, but we couldn’t find any text backing it up.
The ‘incitement to racial hatred’ seems to be taking control over Sweden’s constitution. We had the fundamental law of freedom of expression, the strongest law in our constitution.
But the ‘incitement to racial hatred’ law is incredibly ‘spongy’, because according to it, a racial group could be anything, even an ideology. So if I criticize the consequences of an ideology, or the people who promote applying it, such as Shariah law, it is criminalized in Sweden.
I couldn’t find an explicit legal paragraph criminalizing it. But there are already others besides me who have been charged and sentenced for criticizing an ideology.
Interviewer:
There have been many accounts opened [on social media platforms] claiming to be you.
Interviewer: It’s very easy nowadays for anyone to claim to be whatever person. Shouldn’t the judicial system prove that the person indeed owned the account and wrote the post?
Asa Westerberg:
It should be that way! They should, beyond reasonable doubt, prove that I’m guilty, but in this case it seems that it’s my duty to prove, beyond all reasonable doubt, that I’m innocent.
This reverses the burden of proof, which I personally think is wrong, and furthermore doesn’t preserve legal certainty.
This kind of procedure could be implemented in more important cases or prioritized cases. But it seems that a thought “crime” — I don’t want to call it a crime — is the most prioritized crime in Sweden’s judicial systems today.
Interviewer:
But we do have freedom of opinions and thoughts in Sweden!
Asa Westerberg:
I thought so! We have it on paper at least.
I have read the ‘incitement to racial hatred’ law, It’s very undemocratic and a very vague and spongy formulation.
It’s the number one real dictatorship law we have in Sweden, and it should be abolished immediately. Because everything it claims to protect against is already forbidden by law.
It’s illegal to murder anybody regardless of their skin color or for any other reason. It’s illegal to punch anyone in the face. It’s illegal to call for murder or to encourage others to do so. All of these are already illegal. Therefore, it’s completely unnecessary.
In addition, it is definitely unilateral! I have seen a massive amount of incitement and hatred from non-Swedes against ethnic Swedes in particular and whites in general.
I have personally reported a couple of them, I mean the very gross and really serious ones. Those include “killing all Swedes”, “implementing Shariah law”,
“Swedish whores will suck their c***s” and calls to kill us.
It’s not only me, but many others who noticed such serious incitements and gross racist attacks against Swedes and reported them.
But not even a single case has been prosecuted or even investigated.
For example, recently the Nigerian in Skåne, Sweden, who created a Facebook group — or it was Instagram? — and named it: “All whites should be killed,” but that is legal and it can remain. That was his right to express his option to encourage the obliteration of all whites and encourage his black brothers and sisters to kill all whites.
That is not considered to be criminal. But if I say, “I dislike this person,” not because of his skin color but because of what he says, that is criminal.
Interviewer:
Don’t such stands recognize differences among people? Because everyone should be of equal value before the law. It doesn’t seem to be like that nowadays.
Asa Westerberg:
“All are equal” is just for some. Or we can say, “All are equal except for ethnic Swedes.” This is how I interpret it! Or at least, that’s how it is applied in reality.
Interviewer:
What is coming next? The verdict is on Dec 23.
Asa Westerberg:
The verdict will be handed down on Dec 23 at 11:00am. I expect to be judged innocent on all counts. If I’m not, then I will appeal for sure.
Because if I am judged guilty then we can officially document that democracy has died and been abolished in Sweden with viable evidence. Not even on paper anymore.
The society which is described in 1984 novel won’t be sufficient.
Finally, I want to encourage everybody to continue to express their opinions and stand for what we know is right. Stand for our country and people, and stand for the real “everybody is equal” and everyone’s right to be valued equally.

Those in Sweden that are at the root of this suppression of the indigenous Swedes are not the Muslims, but rather another non-Swedish group. You can find then pulling the strings at the WEF and all other global organizations that are hellbent on abolishing nationalist or homogenous populations.
