Did America Fund the Pandemic?

The Intercept broke the story definitively proving that U.S. taxpayers funded unethical Gain of Function research in Wuhan, China that very likely led to the global pandemic.

“Gain of Function” research is a euphemism, as the goal is to “increase the transmissibility and/or virulence of pathogens.” While it is rationalized as legitimate research by it’s proponents, it is unclear that anything positive can come of making diseases deadlier.

Ironically, the Intercept, a far-left “news” outlet founded by socialist Glenn Greenwald, previously referred to Dr. Rand Paul’s famous July confrontation with Dr. Anthony Fauci regarding Gain of Function research funded by Americans [via the National Institutes of Health (NIH)] in Wuhan as a “debunked conspiracy theory”.

The Intercept smear piece derisively said in part:

Rand Paul’s “made-for-television broadside against Fauci thrilled Fox News hosts and colleagues like Rep. Jim Jordan, the Ohio Republican who has also pushed the debunked conspiracy theory that research financed by Fauci’s agency, which some experts describe as gain-of-function, could have led to the development of SARS-CoV-2, the deadly coronavirus that causes the disease Covid-19, in the Wuhan lab.”

Author Robert Mackey linked to a PolitiFact article which cited Rutgers University Professor of Chemistry and Chemical Biology Richard Ebright.

After reviewing the documents obtained by the Intercept, that same PolitiFact source Richard Ebright openly said that the NIH Director and Anthony Fauci lied:

The documents make it clear that assertions by the NIH Director, Francis Collins, and the [National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases] NIAID Director, Anthony Fauci, that the NIH did not support gain-of-function research or potential pandemic pathogen enhancement at [Wuhan Institute of Virology] WIV are untruthful.

Rand Paul, Vindicated

In the wake of the revelation, Rand Paul has “formally communicated with Attorney General Merrick Garland, requesting a criminal investigation into alleged lies and cover-ups by Dr. Anthony Fauci,” as reported at the Post Millennial.

Americans are Funding the Global Demise

It is no exaggeration to say that Americans are funding the global communist revolution. It appears that Americans funded the pandemic. U.S. taxpayers just empowered terrorists in the Middle East with tens of billions of dollars of military-grade equipment. Americans also fund Non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to mutilate unborn children globally.

As reported at RAIR Foundation USA, “Almost all universities, NGOs and labor unions serve as hubs of socialist funding and activism.” And whether they are funded directly or through tax-exempt status, the U.S. taxpayer is once again footing the bill.

The revelations brings to mind a quote by Thomas Jefferson: “To compel a man to furnish funds for the propagation of ideas he disbelieves and abhors is sinful and tyrannical.”
