He was subsequently kicked and beaten by the assailants, who reportedly shouted derogatory remarks, including slurs like “f***ing Nazi.”

The attack left Jurca disoriented and severely injured, with his ankle joint fractured due to the repeated kicks by the migrants. He was taken to the hospital, where he underwent X-rays and a CT scan, revealing the extent of his injuries. Despite his physical pain and injuries, Jurca’s immediate concern was whether he could continue putting up campaign posters, showing his commitment to his political activities.

Reflecting on the motives behind the attack, Jurca emphasized that he believed it was politically motivated, given that the assailants recognized him from his election posters and seemed to target him based on his political affiliation. He expressed concerns about the growing threats faced by AfD members and politicians from migrants and left-wing extremists. The AfD has experienced thousands of criminal attacks against its institutions and members, including acts of arson, harassment, intimidation, doxing, vandalism, and even assassination attempts. The rise of the AfD has been fueled by widespread anger over Chancellor Merkel’s decision to allow into the country more than a million predominantly Muslim migrants from Africa, Asia, and the Middle East. Merkel’s open border policies have led to security challenges and criminal incidents that disproportionately affect German citizens.
