An article posted at the New York Times and dutifully propped up in a Twitter moment features a group of young progressives in Massachusetts known as the “Markeyverse”.
The gushing article by Ellen Barry titled “An ‘Army of 16-Year-Olds’ Takes On the Democrats” profiles Calla Walsh, a member of America’s largest Marxist Organization, the Democratic Socialists of America.
Barry did not mention that part in her article.
Calla Walsh has a history of activism. During a 2019 Panel Discussion at the Cambridge Forum: titled “How to Start a Revolution,” Walsh explained her interest in radical left movements Extinction Rebellion, the March for Science and the Women’s March.
The term “Markeyverse” comes from the teens’ support of Senator Ed Markey, who won with their help. Markey thanked them in his acceptence speech.
Calla Walsh is “representative of an influential new force in Democratic politics,” Barry explains, referring to “activists who cut their teeth on the presidential campaigns of Senators Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren.”
“Young progressives are an unpredictable new factor in Massachusetts elections,” the author declares.” They’re ardent, and organized, and they don’t take orders,” she continues.
Markeyverse Expects Ed Markey to do their Bidding
Barry explains that Ed Markey’s win left the young activists “with a heady sense of power”. They are currently pushing Markey to denounce Israel and defund their efforts to protect themselves from Hamas. In an open letter from May 13, they remind Markey that their efforts solidified his win.
They write in part:
As the young people, organizers, and advocates who are responsible for Senator Markey’s victory, we are upset and disappointed by his recent statement on Israel’s illegal occupation and ethnic cleansing of Palestine…Senator Markey’s refusal to support justice in Palestine is antithetical to the Green New Deal and the progressive movement that won him re-election.
One of the Markeyverse students, Tristan Niedzielski, 17, is now working on two campaigns. The article posted an image of the teen with a poster behind him from a front group of the Party of Socialism and Liberation, who state on their website that they want to “dismantle” America.
RAIR Foundation USA has reported on this tactic. The mainstream media props up the most radical leftists in an attempt to normalize their agenda.
