In an exclusively-translated video from RAIR Foundation USA (see below), the citizen journalist group Lion Media provides insight on the political climate surrounding the Chinese coronavirus lockdown in the country, which prompted at least tens of thousands of people (some say over a million) to rally in downtown Berlin over the past weekend.
Protests against German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s lockdown measures have been taking place almost every weekend across the country. As previously reported at RAIR, from the beginning of the pandemic, the government aggressively policed their own citizens, while the government still permitted flights from coronavirus-infected Iran and China. Additionally, state-compliant police looked the other way when Muslims gathered at a mosque.
Just like in America, politicians and their accomplices on social media and the mainstream media attempt to discredit trained physicians who dare to offer an opinion that contradicts the state-sponsored narrative. The citizen journalists at Lion Media observe that “[D]octors and epidemiologists who speak out against this catalog of government measures are being defamed as conspiracy theorists or even placed in the RIGHT corner to keep them silent.”
Addressing the lockdown, the narrator states that the arbitrary mandates are contradictory and “draconian”:
The government’s pandemic measures are based on the opinions and assessments of a few supposed experts, who in the past, for example, have massively contradicted themselves on the subject of the mandatory wearing of masks, use scare tactics, fear, and demand further draconian restrictions on our personal freedoms.
The media coverage of the demonstrations was predictably slanderous, in direct contrast with the response to a Black Lives Matter protest held in Berlin in June. The motto of the demonstration was “The End of the Pandemic – Freedom Day” under the hashtag #b0108. The left-wing politicians and their complicit media denounced the demonstration, claiming with zero evidence that it was a pro-nazi event.

Benjamin Alvarez of Journalist at Deutsche Welle (DW) smeared the pro-freedom protesters:
Frederik Pleitgen of CNN claimed “neo-nazi organizations” were “included” in the demonstrations, with zero evidence.
Politicians spoke derisively of the protestors, as well.
Many on social media pointed out the hypocrisy of the coverage.

According to the organizers, between 800,000 and 1.3 million people took part in the demonstration. In addition, an article in the Berliner Morgenpost from August 2. The awakening of the population must therefore be prevented at all costs. Mass demonstrations like yesterday are an indicator that exactly that isn’t working. This is exactly why the mainstream media has been sent out to defame the demonstrators as right-wing lunatics and corona-deniers who put the health of the population at risk because they do not abide by the rules of social distancing and the mandatory wearing of masks. The government then played exactly this card and sent the police to the event stage to end the demonstration for violating the Infection Protection Act, which, however, worked poorly, because the masses resisted the call to leave the demonstration and booed the policemen out. The event organizer was then dragged off the stage, and individual speakers such as Thorsten Schulte, aka Silberjunge, were arrested. In addition, an article from Tagesereignis (Daily Event). The SPD chair Saskia Esken wrote on Twitter: Thousands of “Covid idiots” celebrate themselves in Berlin as “the second wave”, without social distancing, without a mask.
