Disinformation: Antifa Militants 'Shut Down DC' Create Elaborate Fake Mitch McConnell Website

Antifa group Shut Down DC created an elaborate website designed to deceive their followers into believing that Mitch McConnell intends to “vote to convict Donald Trump” during the farcical second impeachment trial.

In a mass email dated February 8th linking to the hoax McConnell website, the group urged their followers to join them in publicly thanking Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell for his *fake* vow to “vote to convict Donald Trump of incitement of insurrection.”

“This is a game changer,” the email read in part. “Donald Trump’s actions leading up to January 6 were criminal offenses and convicting the former president will send a clear message to white supremacist fascists everywhere that they will be held accountable,” it continued.

The Shut Down DC email and linked website were so convincing that unless one read the fine print at the bottom, it would be easy to think Mitch McConnell took on the bizarre mindset of antifa. Even citizen journalist Ford Fischer was initially fooled into thinking the website was authentic. He tweeted in part that “Following Mitch McConnell’s announcement that he will vote to convict Trump, @ShutDown_DC, an antifascist alliance, puts out a press release applauding his decision.”

As the mainstream media and big tech regularly shut down and even arrest those who do not toe the line, it appears that “disinformation” from antifa is exempt.
